There are countless of them, some especially funny, but others, like the one we're showing you today, don't have any special function but are there to bring a little smile to your face.
The hidden dog on YouTube
The YouTube player hides a small brown dog that you can only see if you follow the correct instructions, so keep reading if you want to see it for yourself. The first thing you should know is that this peculiar Easter egg only appears in certain versions of YouTube. You won't see it on your mobile device, nor in a web browser, but you will see it on console versions like PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, as well as on NVIDIA Shield, any Android TV, and the YouTube TV version if you access it from your computer's browser using that link.
As we said, the result is quite simple, and it will only show a puppy walking from left to right, but who would give up the opportunity to see with their own eyes the appearance and execution of an Easter egg?
How to Activate the YouTube Dog Easter Egg
The method that activates the dog is very simple. Just play any video and place the pointer on the playback control (the little ball that indicates where playback is currently located). Once there, press left on the remote control or keyboard to move the pointer to the beginning of playback , and hold it down for a few seconds, approximately 10 seconds.
It will be a matter of waiting a few seconds with the button pressed for the dog to appear by surprise and walk on the playback bar as if nothing had happened. That's it. Do not try to interact with it, throw cookies at it, or talk to it, as the animal will follow its path until it finally disappears on the right side of the screen. It was easy, right? We repeat:
- Move the play pointer to the left.
- Keep the left key pressed for a few seconds with the pointer at the beginning of the video.
- Wait until the puppy comes out.
