Few films have generated more expectations than Dune, . Bringing the work of Frank Herbert to the big screen are big words. Dune, It is the foundation stone on which almost all of the science fiction we know today is founded. Therefore, Denis Villeneuve. he had a lot to lose and little to gain by getting involved in such an ambitious project. Luckily for everyone, the first part of Dune has been a success and has not left anyone indifferent. The Canadian has managed to capture every detail of Herbert's original novel on the screen, and his film is considered the best of all 2021. For that same reason, we are going to do a review all this production since we found out about the project and we were excited until it ended up arriving in our theaters and we left the room wanting a new installment.
Dune, science fiction by Villeneuve
Science fiction lovers know exactly what it is Dune, the great and complex literary work of Frank hebert. Behind this name hides one of the most important sagas of the literary genre, with important awards and great recognition from critics.
In very broad terms, the history of this saga transports us to a socio-political and religious universe with a futuristic environment with a rigid feudal structure in which the great Houses clash over the administration of a planet, Arrakis, rich in melange, a drug that allows interplanetary flight.
On this idea is built Dune, a film that will also be divided into two parts, the first being the one that opens later this year. The one in charge of such a challenge is Dennis Villeneuve -below these lines, on the left-, a Canadian scriptwriter and director famous for having been responsible for shaping other films such as The arrival or the second part of Blade Runner (Blade Runner 2049), among other.
Some who have had the opportunity to see the screen play Tape (Dune finished filming in the middle of last year) ensure that this new adaptation could be a real revolution in the cinema, at the level of sagas such as Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings. There is nothing.
The books
The universe of Dune, It is made up of a large number of books, but there are six that are part of the original series, written by Frank Hebert:

What novels are the new Dune movies based on?
Obviously with so many novels, one of the questions you will ask yourself is exactly which books have been used for this new film version.
According to wakefulness Brian Herbert himself some time ago, the first film (the one that will be released this year) covers approximately half of the first book, Dune, while the second part should be based on the rest of this first book (we don't know if with more additions).
Other adaptations

Dune premiere
As it happened with other productions, Dune, experienced numerous delays and date changes due to the pandemic of COVID-19. The original release date was late 2020, and Warner Bros at the time assured that the film would keep its release date. However, the studio had to take a step back. From the date originally given (December 18, 2021), Dune, it would end up being delayed until October 1, 2021. Apparently, Denis Villeneuve's film adaptation will be made up of three parts. The second was initially announced for October 20, 2023, just two years after the premiere of the first installment, and after that, it underwent a new change, officially set for the red carpet on November 17, 2023. Little by little, new ones are already being known details about this new film, as well as the actors who will be part of the cast. The production started in mid-summer and will show us how our protagonist, Paul Atreides, joins Chani and the Fremen in a war of revenge against those responsible for destroying her family. He remembers that the first part ended with Paul's mourning and acceptance by the native Arrakis group, allowing him to delve into this battered town.
As for new faces in the cast, we have confirmed the presence of an actress on a roll, Florence Pugh, which will give life to Princess Irulan, the eldest of the five daughters of Emperor Shaddam IV, and that of Austin butler (now booming after starring in Elvis by Baz Luhrmann), who will play Feyd Rautha, the nephew of Baron Harkonnen.
We will also have on screen the performances of Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot and Christopher Walken, whom we have recently enjoyed in Severance (Separation), the great Apple TV+ series. In this second part of Dune 2, he will face Emperor Shaddam IV.
Great actors who add, of course, to Timothée Chalamet in the role of Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Javier Bardem as Stilgar and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica and Paul's mother.
