IKEA is about to launch together with Asus Rog a new line of products focused on gaming. It will do so starting next January 29, but the different products that will shape this exclusive series have already been listed on the Chinese page of the Swedish furniture manufacturer.
IKEA x Asus ROG
At the end of September 2020 we heard the news that IKEA and Asus ROG had signed an agreement to create a series of products together for the Swedish furniture giant to then sell in its stores.
At that time there were not many details about what exactly it was going to deal with, if it would be completely new things or adaptations of what was already in the IKEA catalog with the difference of offering some type of customization with this aesthetic that seems to attract so much attention. of the gamers
Well, now we really know what this series of products created between IKEA and Asus ROG is like. Products have been listed on the Chinese IKEA page. that will make up this particular series and that are not completely surprising, but even so, surely more than one finds it attractive to create their ideal gaming room.
The product that most attracts attention is logically the table UPSSPEL, a desk that allows you to work and play both standing and sitting. That is, it is a standing desk with some other interesting detail in the design or cut of the board. For example, that notch on the back so that when it is placed against the wall there is room for the cables or the recess on the front to make long periods of play with the arms resting on it more comfortable.
Of course there is more, because both companies have also thought about those small accessories that improve aspects as basic and essential as maintaining a comfortable posture, better cable management or optimal organization of other products such as headphones. A shy beginning of collaboration
After seeing the products, it must be admitted that the collaboration between the two manufacturers is somewhat timid. We are not going to deny that there are proposals such as the table that have their appeal, but the same we expected something more differential or striking.
We assume that they did not want to risk too much or get involved with something too complex, because we already know that one of IKEA's secrets is to achieve very well-optimized manufacturing to save costs and then help with the entire packaging, transport and assembly process.
However, hopefully it works for them and that encourages them to do something more risky. Or, at least, complete this first line with other products that give much more play. Especially in terms of lighting is where they could have the most success if they launch LED strips or tubes with which gamers can create a much more suitable environment for those long afternoons and nights of gaming, streaming, etc.
