I admit it: I have always been very reluctant to use air fryers. Although I knew the main ones in the sector and even believed that they were perfect for a certain segment of the public, my thought was that it simply did not fit into my kitchen and my way of cooking. However, after several months of testing the Cosori's latest proposal, now I can't do anything other than change the discourse. And I can't imagine my life without her.
Cosori Turbo Blaze Chef Edition: (almost) everything is advantages
I'm not telling you anything new if I tell you that Cosori is the queen of oil-free fryers. And if you don't believe it, you just have to take a look at its incredible reception on Amazon. The online platform sells the brand's models like hotcakes and there are few Spaniards who do not have a device from the company at home. A good combination of features and price has made its proposals fit with many users and the Word of mouth has ended up establishing the brand as the favorite when thinking about purchasing a small appliance like this one.
For this reason (and because after seeing them so much I admit that I was curious) I did not hesitate to accept when they offered me to try their latest model, the Turbo Blaze Chef Editon, a fryer with a 6-liter capacity that claims to be 46% faster than her predecessor. To do this, the model makes use of an improved motor called "DC", which allows 5 levels of velocity, each one being assigned to a type of cooking to achieve better (and faster) results through optimization of hot air circulation. And boy does it do it.
The dishes that I have been able to prepare have always turned out perfect and I have already taken to preparing some of them with this device instead of the traditional fryer. The air circulates very well and the results are always quite uniform when cooking. And that's not to mention those preparations that I never even thought I could prepare in an appliance like this (such as a cheesecake, for example) and that have also turned out even better than expected.
I also fell in love with his design. Its finish denotes quality and the gold details of the Chef Edition version - the "normal" one has them in silver - go beyond being painted with the matte black color that prevails in the fryer. Its control panel (in the upper area and with quite large numbers) is easy and comfortable to use (it responds great to the touch), not to mention that its different functions are very intuitive, so you will not have problems when to start using it. And if you care about the length of the cable, know that this is a medium size: not especially short but not very long either, so you will need a plug relatively close - by the way, in case you want to have the cable collected after each use, The fryer has a rear support on which to roll it.
Regarding its size, yes, it is not the most compact in its class either. You should keep in mind that this model has a capacity of 6 liters, which means that it does not have a exactly small tray. The air fryer takes up your space on the countertop (36,5 x 30 x 30,1 cm to be more exact) and that could be a significant handicap for many kitchens. If this is not your case, yes, you are guaranteed that you will take home fantastic equipment with a very comfortable capacity that will never fall short - it is calculated for about 5 people.
The cooking modes are diverse and sufficient for practically any task. You will find a total of 9 cooking functions: Preheat, Reheat, Dry, Bake, Proof and Warm along with 4 other Turbo modes, which are Air Fry. , Roast (roasted), Grill (gratin) and Frozen (frozen). The fryer, whose basket, by the way, is free from BPA and PFOA, is also accompanied by a rack that is easy to place and clean as well as 5 skewers, which helps to expand its possibilities a little more if possible.
And as for the noise, it turns out quite soft. Obviously you can hear it when you are working, but it is by no means annoying or especially loud. An oven is much quieter, yes, but I think the savings in expense and time are worth it unless you live in a cloistered monastery and the issue of sound is so vital to you.
A culinary bet with a fair price
Until now I had always thought that having a good oven at home there was no need for an air fryer. And in part it remains that way. This type of device does nothing more than act as a small "stove" (reaches up to 230 degrees), but in their favor is the fact that they save a lot of energy with their use, since with less time and with noticeably smaller equipment, you will achieve fantastic results without having to turn on the famous (large) appliance.
Really you save energy (and money, therefore) using it when making certain dishes, which you will be grateful for in the long run. If it is also this Turbo Blaze, I can guarantee that the cooking will be more than satisfactory (seriously, it will surprise you), making it an interesting companion for the battle diary.
I would have loved it to have a more technological component (there is a mobile app but it is still a recipe book, without any type of synchronization with the fryer) and it is possible that some users find it somewhat voluminous, but if those are two factors that don't matter too much to you, this Turbo Blaze (even more so in a beautiful Chef Edition) is perfect for you, cooks. The 179,99 euros that it costs - be careful, I have seen it for up to 140 euros in some distributors - you are going to amortize soon, believe me.
