Vacuum robots with a square format there are few, very few. In fact, it is possible that they can be counted on the fingers of one hand, something that is still curious when in principle we could think that this type of design is more optimal for reaching corners that a round drawing cannot reach. Ecovacs knew that by launching the Deebot X2 Omni It was going to attract everyone's attention and it is no wonder since this model abandons the traditional design to opt precisely for a vacuum cleaner with "corners." This is what the firm's new team promises.
Deebot X2 Omni, in search of corners
There are several reasons why robot vacuum cleaners are round and not square. Some respond to issues purely aesthetics (rounded things are more visually pleasing) while others focus on aspects of efficiency (a round robot moves faster and easier than if it were square). Even so, we have seen some attempts in the past by teams with this form, such as LG which a few years ago presented to the world its Hom-Bot Square with a view to revolutionizing the market -spoiler: it did not.
Now it is Ecovacs that tries it with its Deebot X2 Omni. This robot was formally presented at IFA sporting a design that leaves no one indifferent because it moves away from the usual round format. With this, it aims to reach any corner better, facilitating a deeper cleaning of the home, the manufacturer assures.
The model represents a redesign of the Deebot 15 mm -So try to avoid touching the floor or carpets with the wet mop.
It comes with a charging base that acts as a self-cleaning control unit, where area for emptying dust, refilling water and also emptying it so you don't have to spend a lot of time replenishing or cleaning your tanks.
Also has improved his navigation system as well as its ability to avoid obstacles, relying on new LiDAR technology with dual lasers and artificial intelligence.
The square also pays
Such a redesign brings with it a significant price, although in line with what we are seeing lately in the competition when it comes to high-end equipment that offers automatic dust and water management. In this way, the Deebot 1.399 Euros.
It's a shame that Ecovacs left the Spanish market a while ago because their products were really interesting and quite good in terms of efficiency. Currently it is possible to find them, for example, on Amazon, but the fact that the firm does not actively operate in the market is something that subtracts points when it comes to betting on it, no matter how much square format it now presents to us.
