It turns out that it is now possible to enjoy the YouTube service on the apple smart speaker, an option that until now was not available on the block's home team. This is how it is configured.
YouTube Music, growing (very) little by little
It is true that YouTube Music is not the first choice of many and continues to be a service that is not very popular among the general public. Its configuration is quite simple and only requires a few steps, but in case you need a *push*, we detail below what you should do to get everything ready.
How to set up YouTube Music on a HomePod
By linking your YouTube Music account (remember it has to be Premium, meaning you must be subscribed to it) with your HomePod, you can do all these things:
- Control music playback from the Home app - in fact, it is from there where we will finalize the configuration, as we explain a few lines below.
- Enjoy the Handoff function between iPhone and HomePod just by bringing them together.
- Use the HomePod touch controls to control music.
- Use Siri and her voice commands to play music.
The first thing you have to do is prepare your streaming platform account. To do this, you must do the following:
- Head to the YouTube Music app and select your profile in the top right corner.
- Select Settings and inside, tap Apps.
- Select Connect with HomePod.
- Tap Use in the Home app.
As simple as that. Now it's time to go to the settings of your Manzanero speaker to choose YouTube Music as the default service when you want to listen to music on it:
- Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the three-dot button in the upper right corner.
- Enter Home Settings.
- Find your profile and enter it.
- In Default Service you will have to select YouTube Music.
