The next expansion to the Pokémon Pocket TCG has a name and a date: Mega-promotion introduces for the first time the megaevolutions in the mobile card app. It will arrive with three themed booster packs and a selection of cards with high-impact illustrations, designed to look great on screen.
Coinciding with the game's first anniversary and the milestone of 150 million downloads global, The Pokémon Company adds new features, special events and adjustments to the exchange mechanics. In Spain and the rest of Europe, the official schedules have been detailed so that no one misses the premiere.
Release date and times
The expansion is activated on October 30 at 06:00 UTC, equivalent to 07:00 CET in SpainThis rollout is simultaneous across major regions, so there's no need to wait for local time zones.
In addition, accessories inspired by Mega-Blaziken will arrive in the game store on November 1 at 06:00 UTC (07:00 CET). An aesthetic touch for those looking to customize their collection and games.
Confirmed envelopes and letters
Megaascenso debuts with three booster packs, each focusing on a different protagonist. They will feature cards from Former Mega-Evolved Pokémon along with various species and Trainers:
- Mega Boost: Mega Gyarados – Includes, among others, Mega Gyarados ex y Mega Absol ex.
- Mega Ascent: Mega-Blaziken – Highlights Mega Blaziken ex y Mega Pinsir ex.
- Mega-Climb: Mega-Altaria – Gathers Mega Altaria ex y Mega Ampharos ex.
Among the cards shown are: Mega Blaziken ex, Mega Gyarados ex, Mega Altaria ex, Mega Pinsir ex, Mega Ampharos ex and Mega Absol ex, and new mega evolutions. Also seen have been species such as Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot, Growlithe (Rare Illustration), Arcanine, Jirachi, Furfrou (with various forms), Pancham, Pangoro, Goomy, Sliggoo, Goodra, Torchic, Combusken, Mareep, Flaaffy, Petilil, Lilligant, Honedge, Doublade, Aegislash, Sandile, Krokorok, Krookodile, Frillish and Jellicent.
In the Coaches section, options such as Fire Reinforcement (Object that accelerates Fire-type energies), Zidra Berry (Tool with conditional healing), as well as Supporters supporting stealing or situational healing.
Some cards exhibit attacks and impact effects: Mega Gyarados ex can pressure the opposing deck with its signature move; Mega Altaria ex scales damage based on your Bench; Mega Ampharos ex distributes blows on the opposing Bank; Mega Blaziken ex provides Fire pressure and statuses; and Mega Pinsir ex adds risk/reward via coin toss.
New mechanics and app improvements
Along with this comes the function "Share": will allow send and receive a letter a day among friends, including high rarities. It also expands the exchange to cover more rarities (including Shiny) and adjusts the Magical Choice to prioritize unregistered cards and show how many copies you own during selection.
First Anniversary Events
The anniversary celebration incorporates login gifts with a free booster pack of each Mega Boost line (Mega Gyarados, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Altaria), available from launch day in the menu "Gifts".
There will Special Missions anniversary with cosmetic rewards and emblems, as well as themed rotations: the PROMO 2025 bis loot event (to get promotional envelopes of the A series in several volumes) and the Magical choice bis PROMO 2025 (A selection of promotional cards with coupons redeemable in the Event Store is temporarily returning.)
