After several weeks of testing in China, HyperOS 4 is beginning its international rollout . Xiaomi has launched the global testing phase with an initial batch of devices that includes both Global and EEA ROMs, which is especially relevant for European users who can now start testing the new system before its official release.
The company began rolling out the Chinese beta on August 14th with some of its latest devices, and is now opening it up to users worldwide. The first international group is small , but access is already available, and it is expected to expand to include more models in the coming weeks.
First compatible models and beta dates

The global beta program for HyperOS 4 is launching with three phones that can now apply for access: the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi . These devices, provided they have a Global or EEA version, are already listed in the application on the Xiaomi Community website.
However, Xiaomi isn't stopping there. Starting September 17th, the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be added . The latter two have been officially sold in Spain for some time, so their inclusion represents one of the first real opportunities to try HyperOS 4 on European phones before the stable version arrives.
How to request access to the beta and what you should know

Registration is done entirely through the Xiaomi Community app. Within your profile, go to "Beta Testing," select the relevant recruitment process, and complete the questionnaire. The company will then confirm whether your account has been accepted, although this doesn't guarantee immediate access to the update, as builds are rolled out gradually depending on the development of each version.
It's essential to have the latest version of HyperOS 3 installed before making the switch. Furthermore, Xiaomi warns that you can't revert to HyperOS 3 via an OTA update ; if you decide to leave the beta program, you'll need to flash your device again, a process that can erase all stored data. Therefore, the company recommends backing up your data and using a secondary phone if your primary one is essential for work or daily use.
Performance and AI updates: HyperCore, pre-charge, and more

HyperOS 4's main focus is on performance and artificial intelligence. Xiaomi has integrated a core system called HyperCore that allows processes to leverage the GPU, memory, and resource management together, rather than relying solely on the CPU. According to the company, this results in a 14,4% reduction in the number of instructions required compared to HyperOS 3.
Also noteworthy is the AI-based memory preloading system, which anticipates user needs and dynamically reserves a pool of memory for frequently used applications. Early testers in China have noticed a significant improvement: available memory increases by 27,2% after eight hours of use , and the system remains smooth even with 30 applications open for an entire day.
In addition, a dual runtime environment has been created that separates foreground processes from background processes, reducing latency and making animations and app launches much more stable.
Refreshed design and visual experience
In terms of aesthetics, HyperOS 4 introduces "Soft Light Glass ," which provides adaptive transparencies and lighting effects that react to finger movement. Customization of the home screen and widgets has been significantly expanded, and both the Control Center and the Weather app have been completely redesigned.
The camera has also been improved with a faster HDR algorithm and a more responsive app. All of this, combined with integrated AI features like the Super XiaoAi 2.0 assistant, makes HyperOS 4 a significant upgrade that goes far beyond a simple facelift.
The global beta version is already underway, and with it, European users can begin to experience firsthand what the stable update, expected in late 2026 or early 2027, will bring. Xiaomi hasn't given a specific date for the final rollout, but what is clear is that the company has gone all out to make HyperOS 4 a fast, fluid system with AI that makes a noticeable difference in everyday use.
