At this point, we're not going to be surprised that the Nova 4 has a hole-punch display that shows its front camera, but what we were eager to know are all its official specifications, which is exactly what we were able to review thanks to the event that the brand held today in China.
Features of Huawei Nova 4
Aesthetically, this new Nova 4 is very similar to the Huawei P20 Pro , featuring a curved glass back with a striking, full-color finish. And that's not all; it also boasts a triple-lens camera setup, similar to the P20, but this time the main sensor is a massive 48 megapixels, accompanied by two additional sensors of 16 and 2 megapixels. Interestingly, the brand also offers another version with 20, 16, and 2-megapixel cameras, a configuration intended to slightly reduce the price (though we should warn you, not by much).
But obviously, the rear camera isn't the only one that catches the eye this time. The front-facing camera, which is 25 megapixels with an f/2.0 aperture, is protected behind the screen thanks to a hole-punch cutout. It's a panel similar to Samsung's Galaxy A8s (they're the same size), so comparisons are inevitable.
Given that the Nova series is more modest than the P or Mate series, Huawei has opted to stick with the Kirin 970 instead of launching a new processor or jumping to the Kirin 980. Even so, it's a fantastic combination, as this processor performs excellently and, to top it off, comes with a generous 8GB of RAM . The rest of the specifications include 128GB of internal storage, a 3.750mAh battery, a rear fingerprint sensor, and 18W fast charging via USB-C.
Price and release date of the Huawei Nova 4
The brand has set a starting price of 3.399 Chinese yuan (around €435 ) for its top-of-the-line model, dropping to 3.099 Chinese yuan (almost €400) for the version with a 20-megapixel camera. Both models will come with Android 9.0 as their operating system, and as for the European launch, we'll have to wait a bit longer for Huawei to make an announcement, since for now the presentation has been limited to China.
