El Huawei P30 Pro he's hogging all the attention with his array of cameras. Especially the 5x periscopic zoom sensor, a configuration that, together with other types of technologies, allows it to achieve a 10x hybrid zoom with spectacular results and another of 50x which, although it loses detail, can give a quite particular vision. Something that they wanted to demonstrate with the following video.
Is the zoom of the Huawei P30 Pro so powerful?
Imagine that anyone could carry a camera in their pocket with enough magnification to see certain details at a considerable distance. It would be impossible to know if they are spying on us, and the worst thing is that the spy could be using a device with which to avoid attracting attention. How could a phone like him be Huawei P30 Pro.
The plot seems to be taken from a spy movie, however, it is just what this video posted on the popular TikTok service is making the millions of users who have already played the clip think. The scene in question places us in a high-rise window from where a couple can be seen playing what appears to be a board game.
The video image begins to slowly zoom in on the scene, until it reaches the point where you can see the chips on the table quite clearly. It is true that the definition and detail is not comparable with 5x optics or hybrid 10x processing, but the resulting image is clear enough to be able to see the position of the pieces in a game of Xiangqi, chess Chinese. But is the video real?
One more fake of the internet

The video accumulates a total of 2,5 million views on Facebook, and has more than 12.000 comments, which are already debating whether this type of technology endangers people's privacy. But leaving that point aside, is it true that this video was recorded with a Huawei P30 Pro?
Well no, and there are several details that make us think that we are dealing with a manipulated video that is deceiving many users:
- On one hand, the video mode of the Huawei P30 Pro is limited to 15 magnifications, so it is not possible to record anything with a zoom that exceeds that figure. It is not possible to reach 16x magnification, let alone 50x. The limit is 15 magnifications.
- According to our tests, from the application itself TikTok, you can only record video with a maximum zoom of 10x, so this option would also be ruled out.
- A demonstration of how the zoom is advancing in the scene in the same way that the video does, could only be done recording screen image. To do this it would only be enough to use any screen capture program, however, the image will also would show the interface with the application controls of the camera, something that does not appear in the video.
For now it has been impossible for us to find the original post posted on TikTok (if you find it, feel free to indicate it in the comments), but many users are warning that the creator of the video (the user @诗人飞飞) has confirmed that the recording was made with a professional camera (a bridge with many magnifications could suffice), and not with a Huawei P30 Pro. So the secret has ended up being uncovered.
As we will show you soon, the Huawei P30 Pro camera offers spectacular results, however, you have to be careful not to believe this type of fantastic demonstrations. Technology still has its limits.
