LG has listened to us, no doubt about it. When we published our review of the V40 ThinQ earlier this week, one of the things we disliked most about the device was its high price, a sentiment shared not only by the tech press but also by users interested in the smartphone. Well, it seems the company has taken note and announced an immediate price drop for the phone.
The LG V40 ThinQ now cheaper
LG announced its new V40 ThinQ last October , but it wasn't until the end of January that it officially launched it in Spain. Last Tuesday, we told you that the device would arrive in stores on February 4th , and that it would cost €999 (with a free TV monitor), the official price set by the Korean company in Spain.
Three days later, that figure has changed. Many of us were accusing the phone of having an inflated price tag that does it no favors against the fierce competition . It's worth noting that the smartphone, despite boasting a splendid 6,4-inch OLED panel and no fewer than five cameras (two front-facing for selfies and three rear cameras consisting of a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens, and a 12MP main sensor), will arrive on store shelves with a Snapdragon 845 processor and Android 8 Oreo running on its circuits.
It goes without saying that Qualcomm's processor is more than capable and offers a tremendously satisfying experience in this V40 ThinQ. However, knowing that in just a month we'll be seeing phones with the Snapdragon 855 could work against LG, especially in comparisons where it would come out on the losing end. Likewise, an outdated operating system isn't the ideal selling point , especially without a firm date for the Android 9 Pie update —which, incidentally, would surely improve battery life.

With all this in mind, LG seems to have done a thorough review and, within 48 hours of announcing its arrival in Spain, has decided to confirm a reduction in the phone's retail price. The LG V40 ThinQ will still be available from February 4th, but now at a price of €899, €100 less than the original cost.
The phone will be sold exclusively online , and will still come with the 28-inch Smart TV monitor as a gift (remember that its value is around 200 euros).
We would have scratched a little more but it certainly seems like a smart move on LG's part. What do you think of this change of plans? Do you agree with his new price?
