Initially, it's expected that the foldable phone Oppo will unveil today will be just a concept , so we wouldn't have any information on availability or approximate price. As for why we know a foldable device is coming , the assumptions stem from the invitation the company itself sent to Chinese media, a document folded in a rather unusual way that triggered all sorts of speculation and rumors—as reported (and shown) by Gizmochina over a month ago.

Both the invitation and the press conference announcement image feature the phrase "Get closer ," a clear reference to the anticipated 10x optical zoom we've discussed previously. Just a few days ago, Oppo itself gave us a first glimpse by zooming in on an image of the Sagrada Familia, so the big question now is whether we're talking about two different phones—the foldable one and the one with optical zoom—or if both features are combined in a single smartphone.
