Ming-Chi Kuo had more surprises in store, and in addition to information about the 16-inch MacBook Pro , the analyst shared new details about the iPads and iPhones that will arrive on the market this year. We're talking about an analyst with an excellent reputation in the industry, so these details should be taken very seriously in light of future leaks.
Three iPhones and the triple camera
According to Kuo's predictions, the new 2019 iPhone will once again come in three different versions: one with an LCD screen (6,1 inches, like the current iPhone XR) and two others with OLED displays of 5,8 and 6,5 inches, respectively. The notch will remain, incorporating a new version of Face ID, an improved battery, and a silky-smooth glass finish on the back, similar to that found on the Pixel 3. And it's precisely on the back where the main changes will occur, as a triple-camera setup will be featured on one of the three models.
In addition, other features that haven't been discussed until now include ultra-wideband radio coverage for improved indoor location, and a bilateral wireless charging system that will allow users to charge other accessories directly from the iPhone, including the new AirPods that Kuo also mentions. Regarding wireless charging, Kuo confirms that the AirPower wireless charging pad will arrive in mid-2019.
The iPads will also arrive with news
As if that weren't enough, it seems the iPads will also include new features, with two versions of the iPad Pro, a new iPad mini , and a 10,2-inch iPad expected to be unveiled later this year. The 10,2-inch model will be an update of the 9,7-inch version with reduced bezels, while no information has been released regarding the Pro models.
Of course, Kuo assures that the communications port will continue to be Lightning, so unfortunately for many USB-C and its speed will continue to not be present in Apple mobile devices.
