Although we had already heard about him a long time ago, it has not been until today when HMD Global has officially presented its new Nokia 9 Portview. We are talking, of course, about the phone with the five cameras, a very peculiar device that seeks its main point of attraction in photography.
Nokia's new flagship

With a fairly refined design made of glass and steel, the device comes with a 5,99-inch pOLED screen with 2K HD resolution protected by glass. Gorilla Glass 5. Under it, a processor Snapdragon 845 The central brain will do the work, a chip that, although it comes with 6 GB of RAM, unfortunately is not updated to the latest version, although there were rumors that a version with Snapdragon 855 inside it will arrive later. We will see.
Another point that also feels slightly behind are the screen frames, since it has quite remarkable lower and upper ones, even more so if we take into account that the fingerprint reader has been integrated into the screen. Why keep that bottom frame then?
The good news is, however, at the rear, not only because of the camera (the cameras), but also because of the finish and the logo of Android One. That will be the version of Google's operating system (Android 9 Pie) that we will receive with the Nokia 9 Pureview, a clean version without additives (see bloatware) that will offer a clean experience free of annoying software.
5 cameras for a mandatory HDR

But if there is something that is especially striking, it is its five cameras in a hexagonal matrix. Contrary to what you might think, this set of cameras does not offer different focal lengths than the rest of the competing terminals could do. Here you will not find wide angles or any type of zoom. All the cameras are exactly the same, with 12-megapixel sensors and the same focal length with f/1.82, however, three of them have monochrome sensors and another two with RGB sensors.

This combination of black and white and color will serve to have a greater amount of dynamic range when taking a photo, thus obtaining much more information in each shot (up to 10 times more light than a conventional camera with a single sensor) and being able to capture images with an extremely wide HDR. That is why this device only shoots in HDR, since it combines the image of the five cameras at all times to obtain a final image with a lot of information.
In addition to full HDR, the cameras will allow shooting with subsequent readjustment of depth of field, excellent black and white images and the ability to shoot in RAW DNG.
