Following its European presentation in Munich, Xiaomi has made it official that HyperOS 3 in its global version begins to be distributed based on Android 16 from October, taking the new Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro as a starting point. The company thus marks the beginning of a phased plan that prioritizes its latest releases and extends to several product families.
The roadmap published by the brand details three stages of deployment covering mobile phones, tablets, and wearables from Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO. Compatible models will receive the update OTA depending on the region and batch, and some older teams will be moving to HyperOS 3 in an Android 15-based variant later.
Global calendar: first wave (October – November)
The first update window focuses on the latest devices, with a list that includes high-end and mid-range smartphones, as well as several tablets, including the Xiaomi pad 7The rollout will be gradual between October and November, starting with the 15T series and extending to key models from Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO.

It is the longest phase and with more open time margins, so there may be a few weeks' difference between markets. If your model is listed, the OTA will arrive; the only difference will be the exact time it's released for your unit.

What's new and what's new in HyperOS 3?
The update focuses on unify design, performance and safety across the entire ecosystem. Animations and interface fluidity have been fine-tuned, the control center has been revamped, and privacy options and sensitive permissions have been strengthened.
In the plane of the Artificial Intelligence, HyperOS 3 integrates functions such as HyperIsland (dynamic notifications and real-time activities at the top of the screen), as well as tools grouped under HyperAI for content recognition, audio enhancements, and transcription.
It also enhances the “Human·Car·Home” interconnectivity: Better hand-to-hand interaction between mobile phones, tablets, watches, and other devices in the ecosystem, with easier mirroring and multi-screen use between compatible devices.
On a visual level, customization gains ground with AI-generated dynamic backgrounds, new lock screen templates, and granular tweaks to icons, widgets, and themes without sacrificing performance.
Android 16, compatibility and regional notes
The teams on the list will receive HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 on their ROM Global. Xiaomi also announces that older devices can upgrade to HyperOS 3 on top of Android 15, ensuring system updates but without all the changes from the version jump.
