If you're someone who manages multiple Instagram accounts simultaneously and often posts to more than one, this news will be perfect for you. As a representative from the service confirmed to TechCrunch , the ability to post to multiple accounts at the same time is coming to iOS right now.
How are we going to post to multiple accounts at once on Instagram?
As we can see in a screenshot published on TechCrunch , the feature will be implemented in a way that makes it very easy for users to use. It will be an additional menu called " Post to other accounts " located below the geolocation option for the post. As you can see, this menu will display the accounts already registered in the app, so you only have to select the ones where you want to repost the image you're about to send.
This shouldn't be confused with Instagram Collabs. In the case of this feature, the same content is also published on two different accounts, but by two different owners, as a form of collaboration. It's a way of giving another person a kind of authorship on Instagram for content that appears on both profiles simultaneously.
Returning to the feature at hand, thanks to this new function we can more easily multiply our posts without having to constantly copy and paste the text. Unfortunately, this new feature hasn't brought with it the much-desired ability to share a post, something users have been requesting for a long time and which would be similar to a retweet on Twitter. The curious thing is that something like this does exist in Stories (provided you've been mentioned), so it's strange that regular posts still lack an official equivalent (leaving us with no option but to use third-party apps).
iOS first: Android will have to wait
As with all new features coming to Instagram, Apple's operating system will be the first platform to receive the new functionality. This rollout is theoretically already underway for some users, while Android users will have to wait a few weeks for the app to update. If you have an iOS device and don't yet see the option to post to multiple accounts, don't worry, the feature is being rolled out gradually, so it may take a few days.
