Xiaomi has been relentlessly launching new devices for weeks now: just when we think we've seen it all in terms of cost-cutting, they surprise us with an even cheaper option. And they still have another trick up their sleeve: the Redmi 7 , whose price we already know.
Redmi 7: rock bottom price
Given the price of the Redmi Note 7 , we all expected the Redmi 7 to be cheaper, and we weren't far off the mark. Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun , confirmed these assumptions by sharing figures in a forum.
The phone will be unveiled on March 18th , in just under a week, at an event the Asian brand is organizing in China. The smartphone is expected to be officially launched then, under the watchful eyes of all attendees, taking over from the Redmi 6 (featured on the cover) and revealing many of the features that have been circulating on social media for some time.
We already know almost all of the phone's specifications . A leak on TENAA reveals that the phone will have a 6,26-inch LCD screen (1.520 x 720 pixels), an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, up to 4 GB of RAM and a maximum of 64 GB of internal storage, as well as a dual rear camera, one of which will be 12 MP (the other is unknown). On the front, it will have an 8 MP sensor for selfies and will run Android 9 Pie combined with the company's MIUI 10 platform.
The Asian YouTube channel Boby Đỗ has leaked the phone in a video , where these details are confirmed once again and it is compared to the Note 7 :

According to leaked information, three versions are expected to be released , each with different configurations: 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. All versions will have a 4.000mAh battery and, importantly, will not include a USB-C port.
As you can see, it's a simple configuration, typical of this brand, Redmi, which not long ago became independent from Xiaomi, ceasing to be a category within its catalog to become its own brand - under the umbrella of the other, of course - in which a good quality/price ratio is the ultimate representation of its phones.
And this Redmi 7 will only reinforce that profile. According to its CEO, the phone will cost around €100 , presumably for the most basic version, that is, the 2GB RAM and 16GB storage model. In any case, given its pricing and the price of its sibling, the Note, the device shouldn't exceed €150, a very attractive price that we'll confirm in just six days. Stay tuned.
