Only a few days ago we have known that Christina Ricci will once again be part of the universe of the Adams family through a Netflix series call Wednesday in which he will play, once again, the character that made him famous. The long-awaited series directed by Tim Burton has reminded us of some mythical characters that we would also have liked to have had their own movie or, failing that, their own television series. Gollum
Without a doubt, it is the one that first comes to mind for many of us, and it is that although Smeagol has appeared in numerous installmentss from Tolkien's universe, the reality is that he has not had a film as such focused on his many centuries of decrepit and dark life, although the books can shed more light.
The closest we'll get to it is the video game that will be released this year. There is even a short film from several years ago called The hunt for Gollum and filmed by a handful of fans of The Lord of the Rings. The leading role of this Gollum was evident in the successive releases of Peter Jackson's first trilogy, becoming a benchmark for the enormous success that these films reaped.
Jar Jar Binks
A controversial character, hateful for some but an absolute geek icon for others. His appearance in the second trilogy (in order of release) irritated many, who saw him as a grotesque and ridiculous character, with his constant jokes of questionable humor and unwarranted histrionics, even for certain more serious moments of the plot.
After two decades (23 years) since its premiere, there is no doubt that a film based on him would have a certain morbidity, as long as they adapted their character to the new times, with a different humor and perhaps a somewhat deeper personality. What is so popular today in fictional stories to rewrite what is considered canon.
Dr Emmett Brown
If there is a character who should have had his own movie, this should have been the one of the Dr Emmet Brown de Back to the Future. We know a lot about him, in fact in the third installment his love story gains prominence, which after all takes place in an alternative timeline, like the Marvel Multiverse. (ha ha).
But we don't know anything about his life before that year 1985 (a little bit from 1955), what happened to the doctor before the Twin Pines events, what his youth was like in those post-war years and other unknowns that, it seems, will be lost forever. Without a doubt, the character of Christopher Lloyd could have given a lot of play. No?
Severus Snape
This character is one of the darkest and most mysterious in the Harry Potter saga. And for that alone it deserved a movie, and even a series. He is a perfect personality to dive into his past and in everything that links you to the Hogwarts universe. The reality is that there is a film made by the fans of the saga called Severus Snape and the marauders.
Set in 1978, right after he graduated from Hogwarts, it is a moment in his life that surely could have been made for a (serious) film about the most decisive aspects that shaped him. He unfortunately he could no longer interpret it Alan Rickman, but surely another actor could inherit all his magic.
Ivan drago
The ones we grew up with Rocky on theater billboards we were shocked by Ivan Drago and the great rivalry he had with Sylvester Stallone's character. times when the Soviets were always the bad guys of the movies, something that sadly is fully topical again.
The truth is that the character played by Dolph Lundgren earned a place in history cinema for his aggressive personality, which peaked with the death of Apollo Creed, a fact that undoubtedly marked an entire generation. we saw him in Creed II, and who knows if it could be the prelude to some production focused on the history of his character, a "bad guy" who could have a kinder evolution, as has happened to himself John Lawrence de Cobra Kai.
