Taking advantage of the Mario Day, Nintendo has announced that it is preparing a new Mario movie with Illumination, thus confirming what many already expected to hear sooner or later. And the Nintendo film has broken all records, and as expected, the company is going to continue exploring that market until it is fully exploited. The most surprising thing is that they have given up to release date, so from today we can start the countdown until the next adventure.
The second Mario movie will arrive in 2026
It was Shigeru Miyamoto himself who commented through a video that we will see the plumber in action again, although it was Cris Mellandri who shared the exact date of the premiere, taking us to on April 3, 2026. It will be in the United States and in some selected countries where the new adventure will premiere on that date, although the rest of the countries will also receive it throughout the month of April.
Regarding the development of the adventure, they have shared absolutely nothing, and although the general story of the first film touched a good part of many Mario games, we do not know if this new installment will have a more marked focus on a specific game.
Super Mario The Movie 2
Mario has had so many different adventures that the options are endless, as they could be inspired by the small worlds of Super Mario Galaxy, introduce sports tournaments like in Mario Tennis, or feature a terrifying Bowser like the one in Bowser's Fury.
The options are endless, and taking into account the impressive work they did in the first installment, we are sure that this new Mario movie will continue to surprise, and we have no doubt that it will once again make an enviable box office.

Like every March 10, Mar10 Day was celebrated with the announcement of upcoming releases around Mario, and these were all the ones we were able to see throughout the day:
- Lego x Super Mario Kart: LEGO has announced that in 2025 it will launch a new Mario set inspired by Mario Kart. The current interactive dolls from the Mario sets can be inserted into these LEGO karts.

- Paper Mario: The Thousand-year Door: The Famous original Gamecube RPG will arrive remastered on May 23, 2024. We knew that the remastering would arrive soon, but now we know the release date.
- Luigi's Mansion 2 HD: Another remastering on the way. The great adventure of Luigi's Mansion 2 will arrive remastered on Nintendo Switch on June 27.
- Game Boy games for Nintendo Switch Online: After Mario games originally released on Game Boy, they will arrive on the Nintendo Switch Online service. They will be Dr Mario, Mario Golf and Mario Tennis.
