Robert Downey Jr. and his behind the scenes

Avengers: Endgame is already a part of history. Not only for its box office achievements but also for everything it represents (and disrupts) within the Marvel universe. Despite the months that have passed since its release, the film is still on everyone's lips and remains an important benchmark for everything it can influence regarding the future of our favorite superheroes.

Robert Downey Jr., the actor who brought the multifaceted Tony Stark (Iron Man) to life , is well aware of the enduring appeal of this film, and he didn't hesitate to share several behind-the-scenes photos (ten in total!) on his Instagram account of one of the movie's most memorable moments. It's none other than the scene where Iron Man acquires the six Infinity Stones , places them in his armor, and snaps his fingers to change the course of events and bring back to life all the people Thanos had wiped out.

As you know, right after the snap, Iron Man is unable to withstand the combined power of all the Infinity Stones, and although he manages to save humanity, he sacrifices his own life in the process. Besides being a pivotal moment in superhero history (marking the end of one of the most charismatic and important characters), it's a highly emotional moment for fans, given his many years on screen and the affection he inspires among millions of Marvel fans.

By the way, you might not know this, but Kevin Feige , president of Marvel Studios, recently shared an anecdote that you'll love to hear: this snapping scene was filmed, purely by chance, on a set located next to the one used for Tony Stark's first audition, where Robert Downey Jr. landed his role as the famous superhero. Funny how things work out, huh?
