You read that right. It turns out Avengers: Endgame might have an ace up its sleeve, and no, we're not talking about the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Far From Home . The film could be re-released in theaters, in a second run that includes never-before-seen footage. And this isn't just a rumor: it's been confirmed by the president of Marvel Studios himself.
Update : We have more information about the film which has been added to the article to complete the information.
A second round of Avengers: Endgame in the cinema
Saying goodbye to the Avengers as we've known them is quite difficult. It's true that the definitive end of Phase Three will come with the final Spider-Man film, but given the events of Avengers: Endgame , many feel that the real farewell happened when they went to the theater to see this highly anticipated installment.
But what if we told you that you could say goodbye again? Well, sort of. It turns out that the hit movie is planning a "return" to the big screen—we're putting it in quotes because it's still playing in some theaters, as its number one fan (ahem) well knows— in which it will be re-released with never-before-seen bonus content . This would consist of footage that wasn't included in the final cut (something like those special DVD editions titled "the director's cut" that we sometimes see for certain films). Far from holding back on something so small, and confident that it will be another smash hit, Marvel Studios is launching this unusual re-release.

This information isn't your typical rumor that ultimately goes nowhere. It was confirmed by none other than Kevin Feige , president of Marvel Studios, during a Spider-Man: Far From Home press event held in London.
We are going to do it. I don't know if it was announced. And I don't know how much… But yes, we will do it next weekend.
He even gave Screen Rant more details about what we'll see on the big screen:
It's not an extended version, but there will be a theatrical version with a bit of a marketing push with some new stuff at the end of the movie. If you stick around and watch the movie, after the credits, there will be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. It will be next weekend.
The new "edition" of Avengers: Endgame should therefore arrive in theaters the following weekend - that is, the week of June 28 - although we do not know if it will be worldwide, in selected markets or if its distribution will be staggered - as we pointed out, the film can still be seen in many theaters so we do not know if they will coexist on the billboard or if they will remove the first version in favor of the second.

As ComicBook, the outlet responsible for this exclusive, correctly points out, such a move should help Endgame finally surpass Avatar . Despite all the records achieved by Avengers: Endgame , the MCU film has not been able to surpass James Cameron's film, released 10 years ago, which grossed a staggering $2.788 billion worldwide, compared to the superhero film's $2.743 billion. Similarly, the record in the "domestic market" (i.e., in the US) is held by the latest Star Wars film: The Force Awakens.
We assume we'll soon learn more about this particular initiative, which is sure to be welcomed by millions of Marvel fans. Although, there will surely be some who feel a bit "ripped off" for having paid for a film that's now being offered a seemingly better version. Tell us, which side are you on? Have you seen Avengers: Endgame and will you go see its re-release, or are you not planning on going back to see almost the same thing?
