You are probably watching Avengers: Endgame, the question will cross your mind: where is hidden Capitana marvel? The character, as you know, appears very little in this film, not counting on the prominence that some might expect after having seen his film. And there is a good explanation for it...
Attention: contains spoilers about Avengers: Endgame, especially its final part. Warned you stay.
Why Captain Marvel appears so little in 'Avengers: Endgame'
It is a question that many asked themselves and we have finally got an answer. As you well know if you have seen the 3 hours of movies of Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel shines rather by her absence, with an appearance that sticks practically to the final part (in the middle of the fight) and her attendance at the funeral for Tony Stark.
It was not what many fans expected. After having seen his own film in which he is the protagonist in theaters, many they hoped that the heroin would already have more weight and presence in Marvel's penultimate Phase 3 film, however, as we have said, his screen appearances could be counted on hands. There is a reason for that? Well yes, and a pretty good one -or at least with sense.

As explained by those responsible for the script Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus in an interview with the American media Vanity Fair, the reason for not including her more has to do with the fact that Captain Marvel it's too powerful and clearly they could have solved many of the tasks our Avengers find themselves in quicker and easier. In order not to hinder or overshadow the protagonists, they preferred to keep her away from the plot, since she could clearly solve what happened in Avengers: Infinity War almost in the blink of an eye and that was not the idea, of course:
So, we had to strike a balance between not making it feel like a cameo, but not having her so close that she would solve all the problems for everyone.
There is another added explanation. Endgame was the six Avengers movie, the time to pay homage to them and say goodbye to them. Therefore, it would not be fair for Captain Marvel to appear with her super powers to take all the prominence of her and that in the end we remember her more than the rest of her in a movie that does not correspond:
It wasn't the point of the movie either, the point of the second movie was to say goodbye to the original six Avengers, so their stories were going to be here. […] It wasn't fair to the other six Avengers for Captain Marvel to come in and solve all her problems, it didn't seem like a good storytelling.
The interview with the scriptwriters of the film is recorded in video and it can be seen on YouTube -we leave it a few lines below so you only have to press the play (It's in English, mind you.)
What do you think of the explanations given by those responsible? Does it now make more sense to you that Captain Marvel appears so little?
