Did you think the fever for Chernobyl got us all? Well, you know that you were very wrong. There is a certain part of the world population that not only did not like what they have seen, but they even feel offended by how events have been told. Obviously we mean Russia, where they are already thinking of a "counterattack": a new TV series that tells "the truth."
Russia doesn't like HBO's 'Chernobyl'
Chernobyl it's even in the soup. The HBO miniseries has become in a matter of five weeks (those that the broadcast has lasted, made up of 5 chapters) in one of the fictions most commented of this 2019, generating numerous articles that think about it and even sneaking into the famous IMDb ranking as the best series ever - which is said soon.
Whether you like it more or less, what is undeniable is the quality of the series: Johan Renck, its director, has managed to transport us to the atmosphere that existed in the early 80s in the Soviet Union and specifically in the city of Pripyat, today completely empty after the evacuation of all its inhabitants. Apart from being quite a surprise on the part of Renck, more specialized in the world of video clips, his cast of actors have given us fantastic performances together with a script that is exactly the same as what the story asked for -it has rarely been explained as well what happened in the early morning of that April 26, 1986 as in chapter number 5 of this series.
The series, without being a documentary, has been rigorous, brave and has fled from melodrama, giving us an approach to the history of Chernobyl that has captivated thousands of people around the world. Not the case in Russia, of course..

It seems that Putin's government has not been convinced by the approach of the fashion series. This is how they assure it The Moscow Time, where they indicate that they neither like how things have been told nor the fact that an American platform "appropriates" their heroes. The criticism They have not stopped happening during these weeks. Some Russian media have come to say that the series is a "cartoon" and that only "bears and accordions" are missing on the scene. have even been accused other nuclear entities from promoting the TV series in order to tarnish Russia's reputation in this field.

Such is the case that a second television version of the facts. The national channel NTV intends to carry out a new TV series about the tragedy with a conspiracy story in the background in which the CIA –Oh surprise– sends an agent to the area to carry out acts of sabotage. It will be directed by Alexei Muradov, who has not hesitated to justify this curious script twist:
One theory holds that the Americans leaked into the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and many historians do not deny that an enemy intelligence agent was present at the station on the day of the explosion.
Own The Moscow Time Regrets that Putin's Kremlin has not done more to honor what happened at Chernobyl and above all Russian heroism, which helped save the country and part of Europe from the clutches of radiation doom. He also takes the opportunity to openly criticize the news channel Rossia 24 and the national newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda, who have been quite harsh with the series, accusing it of not telling things as they were. According to Stanislav Natanzon, presenter of Rossia 24, Komsomolskaya Pravda was precisely the means commissioned to publish an article Valery Legasov in which "the truth" that the scientist had lived was uncovered.

What Natanzon does not count, and rightly corrects The Moscow Time, it is that at first said writing was rejected by the editorial staff (in 1987). Legasov had to take your own life for said writing to come to light in the newspaper, in 1988.
