Every great story worth its salt has a setting to match, and in the case of science fiction and fantasy narratives, they are generally supported by a perfectly structured own universe and with sense. Star Wars was not going to be less. The galaxy of the franchise has its own locations and planets perfectly placed in a map that Disney has just relaunched to the delight of fans.
Star Wars: An Unprecedented Open World
George Lucas was always clear that the Star Wars story had to be based on a well-formed universe and this is something that has been evident throughout the great Skywalker Saga. Maintaining a narrative for several decades with nine intense films is only possible if you have the context in which the whole story takes place well tied, and that is just what the franchise can boast of: a complex universe, full of elements and planets and numerous civilizations associated with them.
Over time we have been able to visualize different types of maps in which you can see the plants that are part of the galaxy of the saga, Disney being the most active in this regard. And it is that the company of the mouse, that bought Lucasfilm in 2012, has already delighted us with several illustrations in which it is possible to see how the different worlds that appear in the movies are organized (and many of them that are not even mentioned).
Now we receive precisely one of these images thanks to a last publication that could therefore be considered as the most up-to-date galactic map to the date of Star Wars. It has been discovered in a new book titled Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu.

In it the reader is considered a visitor to the planet Batuu (which was added by Disney to its amusement parks in 2019), explaining what its points of interest are, where to eat or what accommodation to choose to sleep.
Yes, it's like a travel guide to any city we know of in the real world, only through the eyes of the Star Wars universe. The guide also provides itineraries and descriptions of weekend trips «Beyond Batuu“, with escapades to nearby planets and surroundings. Taking as a starting point, logically, Batuu, an image is shown official and up-to-date information about the galaxy, with places that will sound familiar to you and many others that you probably don't know. The illustration indicates that the planet was an important meeting point for ships heading to Wild Space, before the development of certain technological advances.
