Jake Paul demonstrates why the Bird Box challenge is a (very) bad idea

Jake Paul Bird Challenge

The Bird Box Challenge, far from being less common, is appearing more and more frequently on social media. This is possibly due to influencers like Jake Paul , a famous YouTuber with millions of followers, who filmed himself crossing a street in Los Angeles and driving completely blindfolded…

Jake Paul's Bird Box Challenge

The hugely popular YouTuber Jake Paul, brother of the controversial Logan Paul , with 17 million subscribers on his channel, has uploaded a video in which he irresponsibly and dangerously participates in the Bird Box Challenge . Netflix had already issued a warning on its official Twitter account against participating in this trendy challenge based on its film Bird Box (see image below), as it can pose a serious risk to the physical safety of those who attempt it.

Paul, however, has almost ignored these warnings and despite being a role model for millions of teenagers - it should be noted that this YouTuber boasted some time ago that his audience was mainly between the ages of 8 and 16 - he has recorded himself practicing this challenge in one of the most senseless ways possible: crossing a road blindfolded and maneuvering the car in the same way.

As you can see in the video, the YouTuber puts on a blindfold for 24 hours and among his actions is irresponsibly crossing (and of course without using a crosswalk) a road in Los Angeles (California, USA) with no less than four lanes.

This Bird Box Challenge could easily have cost Jake Paul his life, not to mention the potential for a traffic accident involving other people. At 1:51, he's also able to get behind the wheel and maneuver his car in his driveway.

The recording has created so much of a stir that shortly after it was published, an age restriction (based on community guidelines) was applied to the video on YouTube, but it remains fully available for viewing.

This isn't the only controversy the YouTuber has been involved in today. It turns out his credibility has also been called into question following his participation in the so-called "mystery boxes."

Jake Paul has been promoting the company Mystery Brand on his YouTube channel , where you can buy "surprise boxes" that supposedly contain anything from phone cases to a Lamborghini. Paul filmed himself showing how he spent money and received valuable items (like several pairs of Nike sneakers), however, many users have reported that the website is a complete scam and that if you receive anything, it's either a fake or you don't even get it.

Unfortunately neither this video nor the Bird Box Challenge have managed to make Paul lose some of his impact and continue with a whopping almost 18 million subscribers supporting him.
