It's the news of the moment: Netflix has disabled the option to try its service for free for one month in Spain. However, this decision has some nuances and doesn't seem as drastic as you might initially think. Or at least, that's what we'd like to believe. Keep reading and we'll explain everything.
Netflix no free trial month
Alarm bells have been ringing everywhere after the news broke: Netflix has apparently eliminated the option to try its service for free for a month in Spain. As you probably know (and perhaps have even taken advantage of this offer), the on-demand content platform allows you to create an account and enjoy its entire catalog without restrictions for a full month at no cost. This way, new users can get a real-world experience of what Netflix is, how to use it, and see if they're interested in subscribing to one of the plans.
Once the standard 30-day trial period has expired, the service will charge you for the following month (the second month), although you always have the option to cancel it a few days before it expires, in which case you won't have to pay anything. You simply lose access, and you keep a full month of Netflix for free.

However, this seems to have changed today. If you go to the Netflix Help section , you can read a clarification about free trials that wasn't there before. It states that the free trial option is not offered in Spain . You can find the full text below:
Free trials are not currently offered in your country. To start your new subscription, all you have to do is go to Netflix.com, choose the plan and payment option that works best for you, enter your email, set a password and start enjoying.
Netflix subscribers get instant access to the entire catalog of series and movies. In the option What is Netflix? you will find information about streaming plans, devices and much more.
Once you have started your Netflix subscription, you can cancel the subscription at any time.
There's no trace or reference whatsoever to the option we previously had available in the Spanish market. To find out what happened, you have to contact Netflix Spain, which clarified in a brief official statement that they are currently testing the availability and duration of a free trial "to better understand the value of Netflix for consumers." The service explains that "generally, these trials vary in duration and by region" and that it's possible—and this is important—that they may not be permanent.
Netflix is ​​therefore testing the waters by not offering a free month, to see how the Spanish market responds —whether there's an increase in subscribers who are keen to subscribe despite not being able to enjoy a free month, for instance. We'll have to wait and see if the service maintains this decision or if it will soon be available again. For now, though, you're out of luck.
