Netflix confirmed that it would launch a plan exclusively for mobile phones and has complied with it. The new plan has limitations compared to the usual ones but it is still interesting. Because seeing the entire catalog of him will only cost 3 euros per month.

There are many ways to see and justify this move by Netflix, and even to attack it, but the reality is that it was necessary and it's here: the “cheap Netflix” has arrived. This new plan that Netflix has just launched in India offers its entire catalog of series, movies and documentaries for just 199 rupees, almost 3 Euros To the change. In this way, in India the plans would be with this super cheap, a basic one that costs 499 rupees and the Premium for 799 rupees.

The new plan is designed to consume content through smartphone and that, in turn, implies a series of conditions. Even more so if we take into account that it is in India where it has been activated. And it is that this plan will only allow you to enjoy content up to a 480p maximum resolution. Although the worst for some, but logical from Netflix's point of view, is that there will be no option to send content to a Chromecast or other streaming options. mirroring like AirPlay.
Is 480p resolution too little? The answer is yes, but here you have to take into account the size of a mobile screen. It is true that these offer 1080p resolution for the most part, but there are also other devices that, having a higher resolution, cannot play higher quality content since they do not have the Widevine L1 DRM certification.
Therefore, if you compare playing 1080p and 480p content on two screens with the same diagonal and resolution, you will notice a difference. But on a day-to-day basis, most will be more than satisfied. And, again, you will only have to pay 3 euros per month. Also, in India it makes a lot of sense because it is the country that consumes the most Netflix from the smartphone.
Will the Netflix smartphone plan arrive in Spain?
This is the question that many ask. Without official comment from the company, the logical thing is that sooner or later it will do so. At first it is more likely to be done in developing countries, but if we look at Netflix's own interests and its need to continue growing its user base, how many users consume content and the popularization of "family" plans to reduce expenses should come too.
Here the cost would be somewhat higher if we take into account the current price and the savings it represents in India. Even so, there wouldn't be a big difference and for about 3,2 or 3,5 euros you would have all of Netflix (even its hidden movies and series! -wink-) to watch from your smartphone.
