If you thought it would be a while before we saw another Bandersnatch- style series on Netflix , you were very, very wrong. Although it hasn't been officially announced yet, the platform already has a trailer on its YouTube channel that gives us a glimpse of what its new ' Choose Your Own Adventure ' series will be like. And this time, the concept is a perfect fit…
you vs. Wild: Netflix's New Bandersnatch
Bandersnatch has undoubtedly marked a turning point in how we experience television series. In case you've been living under a rock and don't know what we're talking about, this Netflix series allows viewers to choose what the protagonist does in the next scene, opening up countless possibilities for watching the story with multiple endings.
The idea is based on the famous Choose Your Own Adventure books , in which, depending on the reader's decision, the story of the characters was modified, only this is brought to the small screen and with a remote control or mouse as the center of control and decisions.
It goes without saying that this format has been a huge success on television and on the streaming platform, so Netflix hasn't hesitated to repeat the formula , albeit changing the approach. We leave behind the geeky, retro atmosphere of Bandersnatch to delve into real-life adventure with Bear Grylls , known as 'The Last Survivor,' over whom you'll have decision-making power in his risky maneuvers.
The best part is that the promotional videos themselves have already started introducing the concept of personal choice, so in the next video you'll have to decide what to do . Its brief description tells you: "You've seen Bear Grylls fight in the wild, but this time, his survival is in your hands. Will he answer the call? You decide. " You'll understand much better if you press play on the following video:
Who is Bear Grylls?
Edward Michael Grylls is an expert adventurer and former British Special Forces soldier who rose to fame with the television series Man vs. Wild . In this series, Bear Grylls, as he is popularly known, faces numerous challenges in nature (most of them sought out) in which, with the help of his survival skills, he attempts to demonstrate how to emerge unscathed from the most extreme situations.
Grylls' television career has been accompanied by numerous controversies that question the veracity of the events; however, his loyal followers, pure devourers of entertainment content, do not forgive any of his adventures.
