days after the premiere of Stranger Things 3 en Netflix It's time to sit down and talk about one of the most anticipated seasons of the year. Of course, the title can already give you an idea of my impressions: everything seemed to me disappointing until the last chapter and fixed everything.
Stranger Things 3: the idea begins to tire and some characters... too
When the Duffer brothers released Stranger Things in July 2016, possibly not even they themselves imagined the success it would reap. The series quickly became a benchmark for the Netflix platform and a proposal that both young and old liked, despite the fact that the main cast was led by children.
The formula for success? A nice story, with some characters that hooked and liked, and a setting based on the always attractive 80s time -without a doubt, the key point of this whole adventure. The news that there would be a second season came like rain in May: we all wanted to continue seeing how things continued in Hawkins and his directors knew how to perfectly dose the story so that it would continue to captivate us.

The confirmation of a third installment was already taken with more suspicion. Some (myself included) feared that the format will begin to wear out and that the charm of the first two seasons faded. And the truth is that that is just the feeling I had when it started Stranger Things 3: that of confirming that this had been A big mistake.
It could be said that during seven of the 8 episodes of the season there were many things that did not fit me at all. I found the story of Eleven and Mike very tiresome (not to mention that you never quite believe it), the terribly long and sometimes absurd kidnapping of the Russian and, above all, Hopper's change of register I found it unnecessary.

As I already mentioned in this other article about the detail that could change everything at the end of Stranger Things 3We met Hopper in the first season and learned to love him in the second. The tough and bitter cop became a loving father when he decided to adopt Eleven. However, during this latest installment, he has been tiresome; repetitive and unsympathetic in his purpose of dating Joyce Byers; too much neurotic in his role as controller of his daughter's love life; And till pimp beach throughout the kidnapping process of the Russian investigator. All one involution of the character, wow, that has completely disenchanted me.

This season has also served to verify that some characters have lost part of their bellows. And it is that tell me, given his participation, Would you have missed the presence of Lucas or Will? While some members of the group have lost presence and weight (I also include Mike in the lot) others have gained it (Max and, above all, Erica) or more than reaffirmed it (Dustin and Steve Harrington -what a duo!-).

This last couple has possibly been the best of the season. I admit that I didn't like that Dustin was separated from the group for so many chapters, but he has given us moments so good with steve and the persecution of the Russians that in the end I bought the story -special mention to Robin, who has been a fantastic addition.

Precisely Dustin stars in one of the best moments of the last episode, the best, by far, of the season -so much so that it has made up for the uneasiness with which I have lived the previous seven episodes. His moment singing of The NeverEnding Story together with his beloved Suzie -below these lines-, it is simply fantastic and impossible not to make you smile, resulting in one of the high points of the chapter entitled «The Battle of Starcourt». He is by no means the only one.
The last episode is action packed from start to finish, without time to get bored at any time. Everything is developed with rhythm (which was lacking before, especially in the first two chapters), with very showy special effects (you can tell that the budget has gone up) and with also very dramatic scenes involving the departure of two important characters: Billy and, above all, Hopper.
The chapter is crowned with a sequence of (almost) final images in which the children say goodbye to the Byers family (Eleven included) moving while Hopper's voice sounds with the words he had prepared to say to his daughter. A precious speech in which one talks about the inevitable childhood farewell and the important moments of life. Impossible not to get excited.

The end of Stranger Things 3 It crowns and practically compensates for the rest of the episodes, in which it was palpable that there was a lack of content and plot to fill the 60 minutes that each installment lasts. by cons its end is round, with the right and perfect mix of action, entertainment and emotion - even Hopper redeems himself with his sacrifice.
We'll see how the fourth season unfolds, which, if the rumors are true, would be the last. Let's hope so and they know how to close this story as it deserves.
