Even if you have not seen it, surely you have heard of it. And it is that The Bridgertons They are the new sensation of Netflix, a whole phenomenon that has been placed next to the a series of Lupin as the great proposal of the season on the content platform. Such has been the number of viewers that it has had that it is not surprising that the expectation to know what will happen in the second season is through the roof, even more so now that we know who its new protagonist will be. Because yes, the Dukes of Hastings go into the background and now the attention will fall on Anthony Bridgerton and a new member of British society... who already has a face.
The Bridgertons, a great success, unexpected?
What a madness there is mounted with The Bridgertons. This series premiered on the Red N platform last December and thanks to word of mouth and a good marketing strategy (the platform has given it a lot of hype), fiction has become one of the biggest Netflix history hits. We could say that this has been totally unexpected, but the truth is that the title had certain weapons that suggested that this proposal had many chances to succeed.

To begin with, because it is based on a book series quite successful written by Julia quinn. Second because Shonda RhimesResponsible for Grey's Anatomy, is behind the project. Third, because the series opens a window to the time of the English Regency, although with a sweetened vision of it, with high-ranking families, adorned by special costumes and with certain historical licenses (the Queen of England, for example , is a woman of color) that do nothing more than add a special and different touch to the plot.

If we add to all this a leading couple that connects from minute 1, we have the perfect cocktail to hook the audience for 8 entertaining episodes (by the way, enlivened with current music covered on violin or piano). In fact, the fanaticism that the Dukes of Hastings, Daphne and Simon, is so big that many fear that the second season will not be able to dazzle the audience in the same way… because no, in case you didn't know, the happy couple will not be the protagonist of the second installment, going to a background in favor of the older brother of the family, Anthony Bridgerton, and his future conquest for which we finally have a face: Kate Sheffield.
Simone Ashley will be Kate
Each book in the Bridgerton saga is dedicated to a brother in the family (and their love story) and for the moment it seems that Netflix plans to replicate the same approach (and in the same order). In this way, after closing the first season with Daphne and Simon, turned into the happy Dukes of Hastings, the second will focus on the eldest son, Anthony, who, as you well remember, was heartbroken after the rejection of the Sienna opera singer.
The big question that everyone asked was who would be in charge of giving way to kate sharma (yes, they have changed his last name), which will be the great love of our protagonist, a question that has just been resolved thanks to the exclusive Deadline, which has revealed that the actress simone ashley (maybe it sounds like fri Education, also from Netflix) will put herself in the shoes of the aristocrat. Unlike the books, Kate will be a woman from a family of Indian descent (hence the change from Sheffield to Sharma), betting in this way once again on an interracial romance, as in the first season.

Filming hasn't started yet but it should start shortly, during the spring, with the idea that the new season will premiere in December, a year after the premiere of the series. Will Anthony and Kate manage to create the same stir among the public as Daphne and Simon?
