We were eager to know when the second season of The Punisher , one of the few Marvel titles still available on Netflix , would premiere , and now we finally have our answer. The platform has revealed a date to mark on your calendar, as well as its first trailer.

Netflix has once again used its active official YouTube channel to reveal the release date of one of its series. It's The Punisher , which has the distinction of being one of the few remaining Marvel series after the purge that has taken place on the streaming platform.
As you probably remember, a few weeks ago (and on two separate occasions) it was confirmed that Iron Fist, Luke Cage , and Daredevil were being canceled and would not be renewed for another season. We also learned that Netflix had secured these titles , so it will be quite some time before we see a continuation of any of these series (if there ever is one, of course).
The continuation of Jessica Jones and The Punisher was up in the air, mainly because they had seasons already in production (and canceling them like that was too costly), one of which is now ready for release. The second season of The Punisher will be available to subscribers of the service on January 18th , continuing the adventures of this former Marine considered by many to be an antihero given his character and history.
The release date announcement doesn't come alone, by the way. As we mentioned earlier, the day and month are accompanied by a video—in fact, the "January 18th" is revealed within it—which is a new trailer for the series, specially prepared as the first glimpse of this season. The big question now is whether there will be a third season . Netflix hasn't commented on it yet, but given the fate of its Marvel counterparts, the most logical and expected outcome is that the company will cancel it. Many specialized media outlets, in fact, predict that the platform is waiting for the premiere to announce its cancellation, so perhaps by the end of January we'll have fresh news about the fate of The Punisher.
