La Comic-Con is already in full swing and Universal Pictures has not hesitated to take advantage of such a presentation framework to show the first trailer for Cats, the adaptation to the big screen of the famous musical. The problem? It seems that the idea has not finished convincing and the internet…. he is not showing mercy.
movie trailer Cats
"A true nightmare." This is how some are describing the trailer of cats, the film adaptation that Universal Pictures has made of the famous musical. The company took advantage of the start of Comic-Con, which began yesterday in San Diego (USA), to show everyone the first trailer for the film, although, given what has been seen, it is likely that now it is regretting it.
And it is that the criticism has been quite cruel after viewing the trailer, pointing out that this is simply a very bad idea. Adapting this musical is not an easy task, everything must be said. That charm that can be had on stage with this mythical story and its costumes and makeup is in danger of being lost at the moment the characters (some cats) are taken to the big screen, where it is necessary to pull CGI technology to transform the protagonists into anthropomorphic felines -and that nothing squeak in the foreground, of course.

And be careful because the director of the film is not inexperienced: we are talking about Tom Hooper himself, responsible for The king's speech and the adaptation precisely of The Miserables, another great classical musical that was taken from the stage to the cinema in 2012.
In case you don't know, Cats, created by Andrew Lloyd Webber, tells the story of a colony of cats jelicos the night they meet for the "jelical election", in which it is decided who of them will be reborn in a new life. we leave you the trailer below:
You may not have recognized all of them, but in the distribution we find the singer Taylor Swift and weight actors like Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, Judi Dench or Idris Elba. The protagonist, by the way, is Francesca Hayward, a dancer from the British Royal Ballet who plays her first role in the cinema with this film.
As we pointed out, the internet has not been merciful with this first advance and that, what can it mean?... Bingo! That Twitter is already full of memes!:

Tom Hooper will hardly be able to do anything at this point to change the opinion that has already been formed around the film, so he has no choice but to weather the storm and pray that once seen in its entirety -it opens in Christmas-, convince the staff a little more. And what do you think of the first trailer for Cats?
