Rumors about a possible casting of Cillian Murphy as Voldemort have come to nothing: the actor has put the rumors to rest and assured that he is not involved in the Harry Potter series being prepared by HBO. In a chat on the podcast Happy Sad Confused, hosted by Josh Horowitz, Murphy made it clear that has not held talks to play the Dark Lord despite the insistence of some of the fandom.
What exactly did he say on the podcast?

Bluntly, the Irishman stressed that there is no agreement or rapprochement to play Voldemort and who is unaware of the origin of the media snowball. He emphasized the weight of Fiennes' legacy on the big screen and noted that whoever is ultimately chosen will have a major challenge ahead of them, an assessment he expressed with respect and without diminishing the enthusiasm of fans.
Murphy explained that he learned about the uproar from his own family, who showed him posts and messages on social media, and stressed that Matching the work of Ralph Fiennes would be tremendously difficult. With a sense of humor, he also alluded to the villain's most recognizable feature: he said he's too fond of his nose to have it digitally removed.
The echo of fandom and the wink of Ralph Fiennes
The hypothesis of seeing Murphy as the main antagonist gained strength thanks to fan casting and debates on social media, where his name circulated as a favorite. Ralph Fiennes publicly endorsed the possibility in a television appearance, praising his colleague's career.
Despite this approval, Murphy himself has finally cooled the idea completely and has urged caution regarding unverified claims.
Voldemort in the movies: a role with history
Before Fiennes took over the character, Voldemort appeared in very different forms. In harry potter and the Philosopher's Stone, his presence was felt as a face on the back of Quirrell's neck, with Ian hart playing the teacher and Richard Bremmer giving voice to a memory. In The secret chamber, the saga showed the young Tom Marvolo Riddle with Christian Coulson.

From The Goblet of Fire and to The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Ralph Fiennes consolidated the most fearsome version of the villain, setting the bar to which we now inevitably look.

Production sources have indicated that The identity of the actor who will play Voldemort will be withheld for his on-screen debut., with the intention of maintaining the surprise. Furthermore, the story of the first installment allows room to postpone a full reveal of the villain, something that already happened in the movies with partial appearances at the beginning of the saga.
