The project starts with a clear premise: Each season will adapt one of the seven books. This will allow to expand plots and characters in greater detail than in the movies. The First season will cover The Philosopher's Stone and has already shown outdoor filming that point to iconic scenes from the beginning of the story.
First sequences revealed
In the last days, It has been recorded on the streets of the British capital Dominic McLaughlin like Harry Potter, accompanied by HagridIn some shots, the semi-giant appears with body double to reinforce its size in general shots, while also respecting the nineties setting with vehicles and props from the period. Everything points to the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron and the journey towards the Diagon Alley.
Before these scenes, the team filmed the memorable visit to the zoological and the house of snakes, where Harry has one of his first displays of power. They have also been seen early characterizations of Harry and Hagrid with recognizable details, such as the pink umbrella and the worn coat.
After the exteriors, the production works or will work in the Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios, where the interiors of Hogwarts will be recreated with greater control and confidentiality. From then on, it will be more difficult for unofficial images of the set to leak.
The leading trio and the rest of the cast
HBO has put a face to the core of the story with a young trio: Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger) and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley), selected after a mass casting which lasted for months.

Production, started in Summer 2025 between real locations and sets, will follow a structure of season per book. Director of photography Adriano Goldman has indicated that the Season 1 will consist of eight episodes, a format that leaves room to delve into subplots.

HBO places the premiere for 2027 en HBO Max, with availability in the territories where the platform operates or will soon launch. Target markets include France, German, Italy and the United Kingdom, in addition to other countries where the service is expanding.

From the top of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav has slipped that there will be “ten years of Harry Potter”, which suggests a long-term continuity plan and reduces fears of premature cancellation.
