The Star Wars universe is unstoppable. We've been waiting months for the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi , and now that the first two parts of the first episode are available on Disney+, the company took advantage of Star Wars Celebration 2022 to show a teaser for the third season of The Mandalorian . The video hasn't been officially released by Lucasfilm, but one of the attendees managed to leak it , so you can see it for yourself while it's still online, as we'll show you in the following lines.
Hay official teaser from season 3 of The Mandalorian, something that nobody expected
This week the Star Wars Celebration has just started, an event that Lucasfilm has set up in California for Star Wars fans. During the first hours, the event has been full of surprises. First, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen appeared to talk about the new series that has just premiered on Disney +. And shortly after, John Williams himself took to the stage with his orchestra to play some of the most important songs in movie history.
After showing some details about productions such as Ahsoka or Andor, Kathleen Kennedy, the director of Lucasfilm reserved a surprise for the attendees, who could exclusively see a small one-minute teaser of the third season of The Mandalorian.
Has it leaked? official teaser?
Although the third season of The Mandalorian is scheduled for release in February 2023 , some lucky viewers have already seen a teaser trailer offering glimpses of the series. And if you weren't there, don't worry, because a Twitter user recorded the screen with their phone. Unfortunately, the video was very short, and the report on Twitter quickly erased it, so it's no longer possible to see the recording (there are some screenshots on YouTube, but nothing interesting).
Luckily, we were able to see the recording in time, and although the screen was not fully visible, it allowed us to see part of the video. Well bin, much had been speculated that Grogu might not appear in this new season, but Disney has dispelled all doubts with a small fragment in which to see our beloved character.
What can we interpret from this leak?
The teaser opens with Bo-Katan arguing with Mando , whom she accuses of disloyalty. We then see a city with Kowakians hanging from a tree, which elicits laughter from the audience. Greef Karga then appears , greeting Mando, surprised by his return. The rest of the footage consists of a rapid montage of images featuring a new character played by Tim Meadows, as well as Dr. Pershing and Carson Teva, who appears to have finally obtained the necessary license to pilot an X-wing.
It's only 60 seconds of video, but we can deduce a few things. Most of the events shown in the trailer have already been featured in recent episodes of the series , as well as in the most recent Mandalorian-themed episodes of The Book of Boba Fett . Bo-Katan could have a major role going forward and could easily be positioned as the main antagonist. On the other hand, Pershing's appearance could indicate that we'll learn about Grogu's new abilities. And finally, the storyline announced in The Book of Boba Fett, about Mando having to go to Mandalore to redeem himself , seems to be the main plot of this third season.
