The universe of Smart TVs continues to undergo a transformation and Samsung TVPlus is consolidating its position as one of the most important names in the free ad-supported streaming television sector. After years of being exclusively linked to Samsung televisions and its Tizen OS operating system, the Korean technology company has taken an important step toward opening up access to its platform to more users.
Samsung has announced the Tizen OS expansion, its own operating system, to third-party brands such as Eko, Qbell (Ayonz), RCA (Kayve Group), RCA (Treasure Creek), and Axdia. This move will allow, for the first time, Samsung TV Plus comes to more TVs that have not been manufactured directly by Samsung, marking a change of direction with respect to the exclusivity strategy maintained until now.
Samsung TV Plus, a strong rival in the FAST market

The presence of over 100 free channels and a constantly growing catalog have made Samsung TV Plus a opponent to be reckoned with for other FAST channel platforms such as Pluto TV, Rakuten TV, and Tivify, primarily in the Spanish market. The catalog includes films, series, documentaries, and thematic content, with notable agreements such as channels dedicated to Sony Pictures or collaborations with renowned brands and international production companies.
Until now, its main limitation was exclusive access to Samsung TVs. However, the expansion of Tizen OS and the arrival of new models from different brands that integrate the Samsung operating system offer advantages for both manufacturers and the public: They allow access to a free and varied entertainment service, significantly increasing the product's reach.
New additions and a growing ecosystem

The list of brands that have announced compatibility with Tizen OS (and, therefore, with Samsung TV Plus) continues to grow, and the company itself has explained that the goal is to add more manufacturers throughout this year. The deployment is supported by the recent Tizen OS 8.0 update, which introduces a more flexible and accessible licensing system, making it easier for smaller companies to integrate this environment into their televisions.
Samsung has emphasized that quality remains a key requirement, working closely with new partners to ensure the user experience and operating system features (including Samsung TV Plus, access to cloud gaming via Gaming Hub, and integration with SmartThings) are maintained across all models. Expansion beyond the brand's own borders could also increase the number of channels and partnerships in the future, as the number of users grows and the appeal for content providers becomes even greater.
Exclusive content and international development: anime, K-drama, and sports
Samsung TV Plus bets on content exclusives and international premieresA recent example is the launch of the "It's Anime" channel, managed by the distributor REMOW, which has been available to users of the service in the United States and Canada since July 2. This channel offers popular anime titles, such as "Your Forma," "Reborn!" and "Kuroko's Basketball," and promotes the first international broadcast of some English-dubbed releases, even before they reach other streaming platforms.
On the other hand, it strengthens its presence in Latin America with the production of its first original K-drama, “Todo Bajo Control”, a miniseries created specifically for audiences in Brazil and Mexico. Available on both YouTube and Samsung TV Plus, this strategy connects audiences through entertainment and showcases its integrated home technology.
Sports content also has a place on Samsung TV Plus, with the broadcast of events such as Global CombatThis mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament, broadcast live and free in the United States, strengthens its live content offering and brings the service to diverse communities.
