Creative has unveiled the first headphones on the market to offer Super X-Fi technology . Thanks to these models, we can enjoy immersive sound like never before, as Super X-Fi delivers holographic audio for a sound experience similar to that of a professional sound system.
Creative SXFI AIR and SXFI AIR C
But getting this immersive experience requires a rather peculiar setup process. Because each one of us hears and perceives sound differently (mainly because of the shape of our ears), Super X-Fi takes care of personalizing the sound experience of the headphones so that the waves reach your eardrum in a way fully optimized.
To achieve this, the headphones come with a mobile app available for iOS and Android. Users take a photo of their face and each ear . Once the photos are taken, the app analyzes the shape of the face and ears to define a projection pattern, ensuring the sound bounces perfectly around the ear canal.
A holographic sound experience
Once calibrated, the sound that we will receive will be completely different from what we are used to receiving with traditional headphones, achieving a sound effect that can be compared to being inside a live concert when listening to music. The headphones have 50 mm neodymium drivers and depending on the version we will enjoy audio without a cable or with a USB connection (note, they do not work with a mini Jack cable)
The SXFI AIR is the wireless model that can be connected via Bluetooth or USB to PCs, Macs, PS4s, and Nintendo Switches. This model also features a microSD card slot, allowing you to use the headphones as a standalone music player, supporting MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC files. All controls are managed through a touch panel, and as a decorative touch, they include customizable RGB LED lights. They will be priced at €159,99 when they go on sale at the end of the month.
The SXFI AIR C, on the other hand, are USB-wired models specifically designed for gamers, featuring a detachable ClearComms microphone for natural voice quality during broadcasts. They will be priced at €129,99 and will be available for purchase at the end of the month, although pre-orders are available now through the Creative website.
