If a few years ago someone had told us that one of DJI 's most successful products would be microphones, we would have laughed, but the truth is that the brand has evolved so much that it is now one of the leading accessory manufacturers in the digital creation of content for the internet.
DJI MIC 2, now with more quality
Maintaining the same concept as before, with a case that doubles as a charging base, the new DJI MIC 2 microphones feature improved audio recording quality, noise cancellation, greater range, and longer battery life. It is, without a doubt, a significant upgrade that enhances many aspects of the product, although those who purchased the first version may still be satisfied with its performance.
The case now has a safety closure that prevents unexpected openings and falls, and the microphones are available in black with transparencies and white versions.
The most striking addition is a new dial button that lets you start recording without having to touch the screen, something that was rather cumbersome in the previous version. This button also allows you to navigate the screen menus, making control quick and precise.
High quality sound
The new omnidirectional microphones handle all kinds of situations very well, such as VLOG recordings , interviews, or outdoor shots. Furthermore, a new intelligent noise cancellation feature will reduce ambient noise so you can record, capturing your voice better and avoiding noise from urban or crowded areas.
In addition, the possibility of recording in 32-bit internal floating recording format has been included, which offers a high dynamic range that allows you to adjust the sound in more complex environments, either because you have very soft voices and very high decibel peaks.
Further, longer
On the one hand, the new units are capable of reaching a distance of 250 meters when recording, although both the receiving unit and the microphone must remain visible in a straight line and without obstacles to reach that figure.
The battery has also been improved, and with 18 hours of autonomy it is perfect for long streaming sessions or live recordings that require several hours of use.
Finally with Bluetooth
One feature missing from the previous generation was the ability to connect the microphones to a device via Bluetooth . This new generation adds precisely that, allowing you to use the microphones with a mobile phone without needing a USB-C or Lightning adapter. Similarly, you can use these new microphones with the DJI Osmo Action 4 and any other device that supports Bluetooth audio.
Price and release date
The new DJI MIC 2 is now available on the official DJI website, and the receiver and two microphone pack is priced at 349 euros , although you can also buy the version with a single microphone for 219 euros, and later buy the second unit for 99 euros.
