CES 2019 is just around the corner, and LG is always one of the first to unveil its products ahead of the big Las Vegas trade show. Among the devices we already know we'll see there is the new Cinebeam Laser 4K Projector , a projector capable of projecting a 120-inch 4K image from just 17 centimeters away.
CineBeam Laser 4K (HU85L): Features
LG Electronics is starting to unveil part of its lineup for the CES technology fair, which, as you probably know, takes place in Las Vegas (USA) in early January. Thanks to this, we've learned about the second generation of the CineBeam Laser 4K , a projector that boasts Ultra Short Throw technology and a sleek, compact design—they claim it's the smallest 4K projector , although they haven't yet provided its dimensions.

The projector, model HU85L, thus takes the baton from the brand's first 4K projector – pictured above – the HU80K model , improving upon some of its features and, above all, its design, which is significantly less bulky. As mentioned, the projector incorporates UTS ( Ultra Short Throw) technology , which allows the device to be placed very close to the projection surface . With a distance of just 5 centimeters, the CineBeam is capable of projecting a 90-inch diagonal image onto the wall, while at about 17 cm, it can project a screen of no less than 120 inches with 4K UHD resolution.
In terms of brightness, we're talking about 2.500 ANSI lumens , perfect for enjoying a bright image, further enhanced by the reproduction of a wide color gamut for more vivid and realistic images. It also ensures distortion-free images thanks to its adjustment options.

In terms of connectivity , the projector has USB, Ethernet, and HDMI ports, as well as wireless connectivity for external devices such as a keyboard or mouse. However, you might not need to use these peripherals much, as the LG HU85L comes with AI support , allowing users to employ various voice commands to perform tasks such as "turn off the projector after the movie has finished" or "play yoga videos on YouTube."
Price and availability of the LG CineBeam Laser 4K
LG has not yet announced the price and availability of the projector in its press release. We expect them to do so in the coming days, during the Las Vegas trade show . However, we can get a general idea by looking at the price of the previous generation, which officially costs €2.999 – it's currently available on Amazon for €2.825 and at Fnac for €2.399.
