If you are one of those who cannot leave home without capturing every moment you live with your mobile, I have news for you that you will love. It turns out that DJI has just renewed its range of stabilizers with its renewed series Osmo Mobile 7, a family composed of two models (Mobile 7 and Mobile 7P) that promise, above all, to offer you intelligent tracking that goes up to a new level. We tell you everything you need to know and at the same time we tell you how it compares to the Osmo Mobile 6, in case you have it and are thinking of upgrading.
Stabilization: Still the king
DJI has spared no expense in improving its technology stabilization, And the Osmo Mobile 7 boasts the seventh generation of this technology. In practice, this translates into smoother, more professional videos, without those annoying shakes that make your content look like it was shot on a roller coaster.
Needless to say, the Osmo Mobile 6 already offered spectacular stabilization, but if you want the ultimate in smoothness and fluidity, version 7 might just give you that extra precision typical of a technology that has now taken a step forward.

Part of that renewal is found in its ActiveTrack 7.0 feature, which now promises to follow you even in crowded places or when you leave the framing for a few seconds. This is where it really starts to differentiate itself from the Osmo Mobile 6, as the latter had certain limitations in environments with a lot of people or when the subject was moving too quickly. Therefore, if you are for example one of those who record vlogs in the middle of urban chaos or you simply like to move freely without worrying about the frame, this upgrade could be a point in favor to consider.

The main protagonist: the multifunctional module
El highlight However, the key to this new proposal is its new multifunctional module. This accessory (which, mind you, is sold separately for the basic Osmo Mobile 7) is one of the great innovations and could make all the difference for content creators.

And this little accessory not only helps you with tracking, but also includes:
- Integrated light control, with color temperature and brightness adjustment.
- Microphone function with high quality audio transmission.
- Charge your phone while recording (because we all know that recording in 4K drains battery like there's no tomorrow).
- Magnetic mounting
- Gesture control, which means you can start or stop recording by simply waving your hand. Ideal for those who want to record alone without relying on third parties (showing your palm starts or stops; the “V” gesture takes a photo; and the “double L” gesture with both hands adjusts the framing of a subject).
This module alone is already a good reason to look favorably on the Osmo Mobile 7. The Osmo Mobile 6, on the other hand, and although it is a solid stabilizer, does not have this versatility built in.
Size and weight: minimalism in action
The Osmo Mobile 7 is the stabilizer lightest in its class at around 300 grams, which is a relief if you plan to carry it around in your backpack all day. By comparison, the Osmo Mobile 6 was already compact, but every gram counts when you're shooting for hours. Plus, both models have a foldable design, although the new one unfolds even faster if possible.

Price: How much does the upgrade cost?
This is where things get interesting. The Osmo Mobile 7 Basic is priced at 99 EurosWhile version 7P (with the multifunctional module included and which, by the way, also has a side control wheel) goes up to the 159 Euros.

If you already own the Osmo Mobile 6 and don’t feel like you need the new tracking features or multi-function module, this might not be a must-buy, as the Osmo Mobile 6 can still be a more than competent workhorse. But if you’re into professional content or want the ultimate in stabilization, the 7P could be well worth the money, especially given the attractive price tag.

DJI's Osmo Mobile 7 series is available for purchase from today in the DJI Store and authorized dealers, where other accessories such as the DJI OM Quick Release Magnetic Mount, the DJI Mic Mini transmitter, the DJI OM 7 Series Tracking Kit or the DJI OM Tripod Grip will also be available. Coming soon provide you video on the channel to learn more about it. Stay tuned.
