Sony PS-LX310BT turntable: features
Turntables are all the rage , and Sony is keen to capitalize on this growing retro market. The company has announced its new PS-LX310BT , a wireless model with a sleek design , ready to play all your vinyl records.
The LX310BT features a belt-drive mechanism with a die-cast aluminum platter, which Sony claims is designed for more stable movement, along with a newly designed aluminum tonearm that aims to improve tracking. These two elements are combined with a thicker, more robust dust cover that dampens speaker pressure to enhance stability and combat distortion and resonance.
As we mentioned, the turntable features wireless connectivity , allowing it to connect to any Bluetooth-enabled wireless speaker , soundbar, or headphones to play their audio. Pairing is quite quick and easy, as the device has a dedicated button—also used for play and pause—for immediate connection. However, if you prefer a wired connection , the turntable also includes an audio cable.
Sony claims the LX310BT offers various gain selections (low, medium, and high), ensuring broad vinyl compatibility, and features two operating speeds (33 1/4 and 45 rpm). It also includes a built-in phono preamp that can be optionally selected for use with amplifiers that only offer line-level input.
In terms of dimensions , the base measures 367 mm, while the top extends to 430 mm. It is 367 mm deep and 108 mm high. It weighs 3,5 kg and consumes 1,8 W.
PS-LX310BT price and availability
The Japanese firm has confirmed in its press release that its PS-LX310BT wireless turntable will be available from April 2019.
As for the price, it will be around 200 euros , significantly lower than the Sony PS-HX500 model, which has an official price of 500 euros - although be aware that it is currently on sale on Amazon for 369 euros - and in line with the PS-LX300USB, whose official cost is 185 euros - again on Amazon it is reduced to 156 euros.
