The Valencian Community is embarking on a new phase in sustainable mobility with the activation, by IVACE+i EnergÃa , of a series of significant subsidies for the purchase of electric and fuel cell vehicles . This program, implemented under the coordination of the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, headed by Marián Cano , aims to take a decisive step towards reducing dependence on fossil fuels in transportation.
The regional government's commitment to the Moves III Plan involves mobilizing almost €32 million in direct incentives for the purchase or leasing of electric vehicles, with a support structure tailored to different profiles and needs. Transportation remains the region's largest energy consumer, so this measure aims to facilitate the shift towards clean technologies.
Grants: up to 9.000 euros depending on the profile and type of vehicle
The program includes differentiated financial aid for individuals, the self-employed, companies, and organizations . The amounts vary depending on the type of vehicle and whether an old vehicle is being scrapped.
- Pure electric vehicles: €7.000 for those who scrap an old vehicle; €4.500 if the vehicle is not delivered.
- plug-in hybrids: €5.000 with flattening; €2.500 if it is not scrapped.
- electric motorcycles: until €1.300 if another vehicle is removed and €1.100 if not.
- Electric vans acquired by self-employed workers: up to €9.000 (with flattening) or €7.000 (that).
A 10% increase in aid is also planned for applicants residing in municipalities with fewer than 5.000 inhabitants or who have reduced mobility. This facilitates access for groups and areas that still face infrastructure or accessibility barriers.
The subsidized vehicles must be new and can be acquired through direct purchase, financial leasing , or operating rental . There are price limits: €45.000 for passenger cars (€53.000 for models with up to nine seats), and €10.000 for electric motorcycles.
The application process will be managed by participating dealerships or points of sale , which will act as intermediaries and handle all administrative procedures electronically. The application period remains open until December 31, 2025 , or until the allocated funds are exhausted.
Facilitating the leap to sustainable mobility: challenges and opportunities
Regional Minister Cano emphasizes that investing in electric vehicles goes beyond simply reducing emissions . It involves modernizing the vehicle fleet and stimulating innovation, as well as contributing to the decarbonization of businesses, SMEs, and the self-employed , thereby strengthening the industrial competitiveness of the Valencian Community.
However, there are still barriers preventing electric vehicles from gaining ground against conventional models : the initial cost remains high for many users, the range varies greatly depending on the model, and the charging network does not yet cover all needs.
The financial aid from Ivace+i EnergÃa aims to overcome this resistance and facilitate access , allowing both individual drivers and companies to more seriously consider switching to alternative energies. This is all part of a broader strategy that includes the deployment of charging infrastructure and the promotion of innovation in connected and shared mobility.
The Valencian government has designed specific measures for rural areas and groups with limited access . The additional 10% supplement to the aid amounts for these cases facilitates a greater expansion of electric mobility in less urbanized areas.
