The city of León strengthens its position as a benchmark in the cybersecurity sector with the celebration of a new edition of the Cybersecurity Summer BootCamp, an event that brought together 27 experts and professionals from XNUMX different countries in the capital of León. This event, sponsored by the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) together with the Organization of American States (OAS) and the University of León, has become a first-class training and knowledge-sharing platform within the sector.
During ten intensive days, Leon transforms into a authentic technological hub, hosting workshops, conferences, simulations, and practical activities aimed primarily at strengthening capacities and fostering cooperation among various stakeholders in the cybersecurity field. Throughout the week, participants face real-life challenges through crisis simulations, immersive experiences, and training designed for law enforcement professionals, technology experts, judges, prosecutors, and policymakers. This year's edition has been marked by the appreciation of the Spanish Government's commitment to cybersecurity. Antonio Hernando Vera, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, highlighted the record investment of 1.157 millones de euros Aimed at strengthening the national system for protection against digital threats. The OAS has highlighted the "catalytic" role of the BootCamp in the consolidation of cybersecurity in Latin America, by promoting national strategies, developing leaders, and building an international community resilient to global risks.
The event also functions as a laboratory for the recruitment and development of new talent, with the formation of national teams that will represent Spain in European cybersecurity championships such as the ECSC.
