ASUS didn't want to wait any longer, and after the appearance of many rumors pointing to a new version of the Ally, the manufacturer has decided to share the first details of the new console that will be officially announced on June 2nd under the name ASUS ROG Ally X.
A renewed version with updates
As we've known until now, the new version of the ROG Ally will primarily be an updated version with improvements, but not a completely new model with a generational leap . The company has used its official YouTube channel to announce that the new console will be unveiled at a dedicated event on June 2nd , specifying that the console will not offer any kind of redesign or platform change, but will include significant changes that will satisfy the most demanding users looking for extra features.
All the changes introduced have been based on comments and suggestions from the gaming community, so it is most likely that we will finally see one of the main user complaints resolved: the battery. As they describe, they will include significant improvements to the motherboard, big changes to the battery, more ports (the current version only offered a USB port) and some physical changes that will possibly be reflected in the grip of the device.
A completely new interface
Where there will be notable changes is in the device's interface, as ASUS has prepared Armoury Crate SE 1.5 , a new version of the ASUS interface that appears to change the style to offer a more direct and user-friendly experience. This new version will debut with the new Ally X, but will also arrive on the original Ally , so all users will be able to enjoy the new menus.
Basically it is cleaner and top tabs have been included to improve navigation between sections. The display template will be quite customizable, so we can see our library in grid mode with all the games or even have a broader view very similar to the Xbox menu.
Custom settings options are also included for each game, so we can configure, export and share control settings for each game, so that the community helps achieve the best configuration for each title.
We have to wait
The new ROG Ally X will be officially announced with all its details on June 2nd, and the new version of Armoury Crate won't arrive until July , so we'll have to wait until then to get the corresponding update and be able to make the leap to the new interface.
