After a somewhat decaffeinated mini version, what many expected has arrived: The C64, the replica of the Commodore 64. Forty years later, Retro Games Ltd. is back with a life-size version of what was one of the most important computers in the history of computing.
The C64, forty years later the Commodore 64 returns
In 2018 Retro Games Ltd. released The C64mini, a smaller version of the classic Commodore 64. It was a striking but decaffeinated proposal, basically it was a case that copied the design and where the keyboard was a purely decorative element.
The keys were stuck, they didn't work, and if you wanted to program in BASIC, you had to use one of the included USB ports to connect an external keyboard to it. Therefore, you had a striking product, capable of emulating the experience at the software level but little else.
El new The C64 is a full version, without physical limitations, bigger and with a keyboard that this time is 100% functional. It can be used to enter code in BASIC or simply control the functions and other options it offers.
Regarding software issues, as we said, in addition to allowing BASIC programming, you can also play. By means of a switch you can change between C64 mode by default or VIC 20 and the console Game Carousel.
Depending on the mode, one type of software or another would be accessed. In games you will have up to 64 titles available, some like: Pradroid, Galencia (a tribute to Galaga from 1981), California Games, etc.
Speaking of connections, the equipment has different connectors. For example, we have an HDMI output that allows us to output a video signal at 720p resolution and supports both 50 Hz in Europe and 60 Hz in the USA.
