Rakuten Kobo has launched two new e-readers featuring a color screen for a new reading experience. Thanks to this e-ink display, you can enjoy the benefits of long-lasting battery life without losing color in the images.
Color eReaders at a good price
Kobo's new eReaders come in two different versions. The Libra Colour is a 7-inch model with an ergonomic design that allows for landscape orientation and features physical page-turn controls. The Clara Colour is a more traditional 6-inch version , presented as a classic solution for ebook lovers looking to upgrade to a color screen.
The main differences between the two models, besides screen size, are that the Libra Colour offers 32 GB of storage (compared to the Clara Colour's 16 GB), as well as access to Google Drive and Dropbox . It also supports a stylus , an accessory sold separately that must be purchased to annotate while reading. The Libra Colour is available in black and white.
Both are waterproof, so you can take it to the pool and lose the fear of a splash splashing on the screen.
Why do I want a color screen?
Obviously, the main appeal of having a color e-reader is that you can enjoy full-color images, so a particularly interesting use is being able to read comics in full color and detail. If comics aren't your thing, reading traditional books will also have its rewards, since you can make annotations and highlight phrases and statements with colored markers, not to mention that the covers will also look more attractive.
Price and release date
These two new Kobo models will go on sale on April 30th, priced at €229,99 for the Kobo Libra Colour and €159,99 for the Kobo Clara Colour.
