DJI is preparing the launch of a new drone. That is the clear conclusion that can be drawn after seeing the leaked images of the packaging of the so-called DJI Neo, a very compact and small drone that will attract attention for its ease of use and its small dimensions. DJI Neo: the easiest drone to use
As can be seen in the leaked image, it seems that the drone will have a very compact design, with a camera that It does not have a stabilization gimbal and protected rotors and propellers to avoid collisions. This seems to propose a model that is easy to use, that avoids collisions of the propellers and that is easy to handle, but it could also indicate that we are facing a low cost FPV model.
On the one hand, the camera only has a vertical axis, so it does not have a 3-axis stabilization system. This however will not be a problem, as the RockSteady software and the vertical axis seem to promise perfect video stabilization. Video that by the way will be in 4K.

Extremely light
But if there is something that attracts attention, it is its lightness. Taking into account that the company's Mini models reach 249 grams to be below the regulatory limit, this DJI Neo marks on the scale only 135 grams, which makes it one of the lightest drones on the market.
The body does not seem to have collision sensors, which is why the price of this drone is so low. By eliminating all this electronics and installing propeller protectors, you get a product at a good price and without the risk of significant damage. Software includes AI features capable of tracking people and the famous Quickshots, something that is said to be accompanied by gesture control functions, being able to take off and land the drone by waving at it.
How much will it cost?
The leaked images show the box of the Fly More Combo pack, a pack that usually includes extra batteries, spare propellers, control knob, charging base for the batteries and connection cables. This pack would arrive in stores for 329 euros, which means that the solo version of the drone could be around 250 or 280 euros. Which is not bad at all.
In the absence of DJI making an official statement, it is normal that we will know something about it this month or at the beginning of September.
