Learning to play the piano as if it were a game of Guitar Hero. That's the idea behind Roli's new product: Lumi . A keyboard that adapts to all types of users, from those looking to learn to those who want to compose and create their own music.

Roli is a company that has been launching very attractive musical products since 2009. They started with their Seaboard Grand (a 61-key keyboard), and from there, they began releasing more interesting and, at the same time, more affordable options . These products caught the attention of many musicians, composers, and other users looking to experiment with keyboards.
Now, with Lumi, the goal is to seduce a new audience that is attracted to the idea of ​​learning to play an instrument, they want it to be the piano, but they don't know where to start.
Lumi is a keyboard with 24 keys that can light up in different colors. Thanks to this, and the use of a companion app, you can learn to play music as if you were playing Guitar Hero.
With a music library made up of songs by Ed Sheeran and other very popular artists, the different notes will fall on the screen of the mobile device until the keys of the keyboard itself light up. At that moment it will be when you should press them and little by little, as a game, you will learn to play.
As progress is made, the application will add difficulty. First with the name of the notes and then changing the display, which will go from being vertical to horizontal. To finally introduce a representation with the chords and then the actual score.
This is all the fun and learning part, but Lumi can be used as a compositing tool and much more by advanced users. It can even be used in a modular way, joining both to have a keyboard with a greater number of keys (up to 72 keys). However, if we only use one, at the top there is a control to modify the octave.
In terms of specifications, the keyboard has the 24 keys already mentioned, is backlit, and features pressure sensitivity for enhanced performance. For connectivity, it includes a USB-C port used both to charge its 2.300 mAh battery (offering up to 6 hours of battery life) and for MIDI keyboard operation.
