Redmi AirDots, the new cheap headphones from the house
Xiaomi already has several wireless audio options—remember the famous " Xiaomi AirPods " we told you about a few months ago?—but that hasn't stopped them from trying a new offering under their Redmi brand . The new Airdots are Bluetooth (5.0) earbuds with a discreet and elegant design, a light weight (4,1 grams per earbud), and up to 4 hours of battery life for music playback.
The carrying case itself doubles as a charging base (it integrates a 300 mAh module), so it can extend battery life by up to 12 hours or provide three full charges for the earbuds, depending on how you look at it. The Airdots can be used for receiving calls and feature a noise reduction system . Each earbud has a button for control—they aren't touch-sensitive, unlike Xiaomi's Airdots, another model from the company—so depending on how many times you click, you can pause the music, take a photo (yes, they can also be used to control your phone), or activate the voice assistant. Incidentally, judging by the promotional images, they should be sweat-resistant, although this hasn't been explicitly stated.
The Redmi Airdots are priced at 99 yuan, which is roughly a ridiculously low 13 euros . We don't know what the price will be once imported to markets like Spain, but however much it increases, it will probably still be a very cheap and affordable product, like everything related to the Redmi brand and therefore to Xiaomi. They will be available in China on April 9th.
