When Tom's Hardware interviewed the creator and current CEO of Raspberry Pi Trading, Eben Upton, some details of the future version were revealed. But the idea that he conveyed seemed to point to 2020 as the release date. Therefore, that it is already available is a pleasant surprise for all those who enjoy it in their projects.
The new Raspberry Pi 4 arrives with updated hardware that make it more powerful and almost more malleable due to those RAM memory configuration options. You can select the amount of memory according to the needs of the project, in case you want to emulate consoles just mount a media center based on Android TV, although there is more news.
With the same size and physical characteristics, the differences are in the components. The new version comes with a quad core processor More powerful. Which also translates into a greater graphic capacity that, now, allows it to support up to two screens with 4K resolution. Regarding RAM memory, you can choose three configuration options: 1, 2 and 4 GB.
Regarding the rest of the features, comment that it comes with four USB A ports, two of them version 2.0 and another two version 3.0. It also maintains the port gigabit ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth 5.0 and other characteristic connections, to be used together with other boards and specific modules.
Of course, one of the most striking innovations is the inclusion of a USB C connection port With it, the board gains a lot by being able to use many of the cables and chargers that come with phones or many other current devices.
